Does anyone here have Windows Server installed on a home machine? What do you use it for over something like Ubuntu?

Ubuntu is bloat and spyslop, no better than anything currently supported by MS.

used to run win2k8server_r2 at home for practice for school back in the day. just used it for basic AD stuff for a few clients. device management and file server mostly. was going to make a network portal with it, but never got around to it.

that was like the most comfy and boring windows version ever

Only reason to bother with it is AD/Exchange and Microsoft’s SQL server.
