SOME people might get very emotional from listening to music and might listen to specific songs to reinforce or cope with whatever emotions they might feel in the moment. but it's too subjective and vague to handwave music in its entirety as being about emotional expression. it's like you don't actually know what you're doing when writing a song so you make up some vague explanation like "it fell out of the sky" "it came to me in a dream" "muh emotions". a song might just sound good and be more or less intellectually stimulating but it doesn't have to be any more emotional than enjoying a tasty burger.

and youtubers and such who larp as educators don't even write good songs themselves they just talk about this emotional storytelling whereas the real successful artists usually don't talk about conveying specific emotions
