>install FreeBSD 14.3
>spend literal hours learning and configuring things: wifi drivers, linuxlator, SD card managers, FAT32 codepages, ports...
>actually feel happy, accomplished and motivated
>I love BSD and I want to make it my daily driver

is this normal? does it happen to other people? It's irrational. It's more difficult to use, it has worse drivers, it has less apps, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. I always looked down on Gentoo and such things, and then I'm going the hardest path...
>>
>hardest path
Uh no?
>>
>hardest
i assume freebsd is arch hard
>is this normal
no. "normal" avoids difficulties and troubles. that's why it's normal to be stupid

You enjoy tinkering with your computer instead of working on it, that's perfectly fine, there are professional fields where this can be applied. Most people just want to forget the OS is there.
>>
Yes it's normal, yes it happens to other people, the majority even.

You can install Plasma on BSD in minutes, it's definitely not the hardest path.
