Among the changes is the new image loading backend that enables blazing fast JPEG XL decoding. GNOME now proudly presents a JXL image as the very first thing you see upon logging in.

GNOME is so gemmy it's kinda crazy, how can such a small team make the best desktop environment in the world? literally mogs macOS and windows in terms of smoothness and just werkyness, it's all so logical and natural too, blew my brainlet pre-gnome mind with realization wait you can simply use one monitor with multiple fluid workspaces and never minimize anything just move to another worskpace wat da helly

That's really great news for JXL. Hope Mozilla finally enables support in stable soon.

The changelog doesn't mention the changes for Jpeg-XL, which issue # was it?

>>can i change the size of the headerbars?
No, because it's all controlled by libadwaita which is allergic to theming.

Doesn't matter if they do. Unless Chromium adds support it's dead in the water, and Google will never do it. Too bad, so sad.

I initially didn't like Gnome because it looks like it was made for tablets. Then I tried it on a laptop with a touch screen and I've never looked back.
