The screen on my laptop is broken, so I've been using the HDMI to connect to a monitor. Unfortunately, the HDMI socket is now on the brink, so I'll soon need another solution (preferably the laziest/cheapest possible one). I was thinking of getting a USB to HDMI connecter so I can run the video feed through that, but had a couple of questions first.1: How do I know if the drivers I have to install for whatever cheap chinese crap I get off amazon will be full of aids? Any brands I can actually trust?2: Once set up, will it run at startup like the HDMI does? It'll be kind of pointless if I have to set it up each time since the screen is broken.Pic unrelated, inb4 poorfag.
>>106455390Buy a cheap used computer $40 you retard. You look around on craigslist/facenook you may even find a free one ffs.
>>106455625I'd rather keep using my mediocre computer than a dogshite one if possible. I'm also somewhat distrustful of used computers that haven't been confirmed wiped by a legit supplier.
Why not pay an electronics repair place like $40 to repair the hdmi port? It's going to end up better than doing some janky ass USB stuff
>>106455761It'll cost me way more than that (UK) to repair, and I'm trying to resolve this in the cheapest and laziest way possible.
