Reminder that modern encryption is already dead.

When will you find these on an m.2 near you?

Reminder that every method to break encryption on quantum chips has turned out to still be faster on regular chips.

Are there not quantum resistant encryption methods and would they not be considered modern?
>>
>>106467474
it would require rebuilding all physical network infrastructure

yeah but they practically have no support behind them. It's almost like someone doesn't want you to use them...

You have no idea what Quantum even is and you have never used a Quantum computer so please shut the fuck up forever
>>
>>106466946
This is Microsoft scammery, there’s nothing that can run the algorithm that’d break current cryptography. And even then, we’ve already got post-quantum algorithms kicking about.

Quantum computing is like 98% scam investment grifting, like AI but even worse cause their claims amount to “it like computer, but quantum”, and conveniently ignore the fact they’re not useful for general purpose computation.

1. there is no evidence that Microsoft's Majorana 1 chip actually contains topological qubits instead of Andreev modes
2. even if it does, it's only 8 qubits, and a quantum computer that could use Shor's algorithm to break some types of asymmetric encryption efficiently would require thousands or even millions of qubits (depending on how many of the qubits are needed for error correction)
3. Shor's algorithm does not affect symmetric encryption; Grover's algorithm does, but it only makes a brute force attack more efficient, while still remaining unrealistic, so modern block and stream ciphers like AES and ChaCha20 would remain secure
4. quantum-safe algorithms have been in development for years and will be rolled out before quantum computers become a threat (if they ever do)

and you think that with military tech being 30 years in front of commercial one that NSA cryptographers didn't already solve prime number factorization

newsflash bub, pic related exists
there is a pattern in prime numbers and their multiplications and the three letter agencies are guarding that fact harder than they did with the Enigma
your dumb ape monkey that regurgitates everything is just unable to comprehend that fact
>>
>>106470136
>military tech being 30 years in front of commercial one
post evidence for that assertion or retract it
n.b. the fact that NSA discovered public-key cryptography before Diffie and Hellman doesn't count, as the state of public cryptography research has changed dramatically since then
>that NSA cryptographers didn't already solve prime number factorization
the difficulty of factorizing large integers is only one of the techniques that underlies public key cryptography
you have no evidence that NSA has solved it or any of the others
this thread (and my response to OP) is about quantum computers breaking current public key cryptography, not NSA advances in number theory
>>
>>106470205
>bot response
and there you go with your creativity of needing proof for every claim (whilst asserting your claims while being taken at face value) and can't piece 2 things together (like the fact that pattern in prime numbers do exist and that there is a pattern in their multipliers just by getting that dimension in matrix)

The last one you didn't like so much that you even ignored that I even mentioned.
You probably have high opinion of yourself because you can remember factoids, probably have masters and earn above average for your age and skillset and you pride yourself on your achievements
Your trap is the ego you built around your identity which is why you will never go above the things you know you can already do

that's not what's happening
you are not just making claims, you are making extraordinary claims, and that demands evidence
you are now whining because you have no evidence
>and can't piece 2 things together (like the fact that pattern in prime numbers do exist
the fact that a pattern exists doesn't mean that this information can be used to reduce or eliminate the difficulty of factoring large integers, and even if it did, you have no evidence that the NSA has been able to do so
if this pattern is so important to the problem and you've figured it out, go publish your findings and get your Fields Medal

You don't have to entertain that autist. It's the same kind that got vaccinated for goodboy points. It's a given NSA got access to that shit, just like they had a backdoor for a decade in windows before the "evidence" got out. Funny how guys like these are highly competent in a very specific field but absolutely retarded for anything that requires a bit of lateral thinking

>you are not just making claims, you are making extraordinary claims, and that demands evidence
You're also make claims, some would claim them extraordinary, and you make them without any evidence provided and you act as if its a given
If you applied the same standards you do on others onto yourself you would break within a week, which is why there is understandable cognitive dissonance here
>and even if it did, you have no evidence that the NSA has been able to do so
And nazis didn't have evidence that british cracked their Enigma machine, would have been better if they were extra cautious tho
>if this pattern is so important to the problem and you've figured it out, go publish your findings and get your Fields Medal
Would that shut you up or would it just make you move the goalpost and ignore the cognitive dissonance within yourself?
And if another conspiracy theorist makes an outlandish claim like me in the future would you then also be skittish or would you just say that its for the better good that you postured absolute certainty because it made the wider public aware?
See, I have no value attachment to money or social status, which might be weird to a bot like you, but ultimately what is in it there for me if people like you exist? The "scientist" types that vehemently fight against any exploration into the unknown and just stand by the lines of "already established science" while ignoring the esoteric and somewhat mystic origins of that science. You try to find order in chaos which is admirable, but ultimately foolish and satanic in its nature.
>you know nothing about me except that i speak English, use 4chan, and know a hell of a lot more than you do about this topic
I met people like you before. The straight A students that pride themselves on academic achievements and never dare to challenge their assumptions about the world. You're the kind that would "oppose the evils of this world" whilst working for Lockheed Martin.

You're right on track. Bots have egos. And egos are inherently bot. Tbh you sound like a charicature of some Big Bang Theory side character. Archetype of scientific "um ackshtually" nerd that built it on social status seeking of, as you said, medals and debate virtual points. You boxed yourself in predetermined set of moves before you even came to this discussion by the personality that was shaped. You have an ego (not in colloquial sense of word as "arrogance", but psychological "sense of identity") and this ego makes your responses quite mundanely predictive which is why I made assumptions about you that I did.

Please for your own sake look into topic you would never even touch with a 10 foot pole and sincerely try to understand a point of view that isn't your own. It might help you get a grasp of that jail you've been living in all your life.

they knew that the polish had been cracking it years before the british, even helped the british to understand how these early enigma machines worked. and i'm pretty sure they knew they were fucked when their code books ended up in enemy hands. the germans were incredibly incompetent.

My idea as to how conventional cryptography can mitigate quantum computers:

"Landauer's principle is a physical principle pertaining to a lower theoretical limit of energy consumption of computation. It holds that an irreversible change in information stored in a computer, such as merging two computational paths, dissipates a minimum amount of heat to its surroundings.[1] It is hypothesized that energy consumption below this lower bound would require the development of reversible computing."

Now a quantum computer trying to break cryptography wants to produce a irreversible result, meaning the answer remains the prime factors and doesn't flip back to wrong values, which means, that it's subject to the Landauer Limit.

https://phys.org/news/2021-10-coldest-temperature38-picokelvins.amp

According to Landauer's Limit, one joule can flip a maximum of ~3.64 x 10^34 bits if those bits are all at 38 picokelvin.

What this means, is that a cryptography brute forcer machine, no matter how many qubits, can't perform more than ~3.64 x 10^34 computations per joule and not accidentally corrupt its end result prime factors.

So the solution, is to change from rsa 2048 which could be cracked with around 1 joule of power supplied to this impossible computer to rsa 32768, which according to deepseek would need 2^282 brute force attempts to solve with the general number field sieve algorithm. Since ~3.64 x 10^34 is around 2^128, 282 - 128 = around 2^152 joules would be needed, which should be okay for now since there's not enough energy in the universe for that.
