>>106467130L, better luck next time.
>>106467163>whats been going on with this. Why has everyone been sayign firfox is dying/dead the past few months>I started using it and it seems fineIt's about the google money, they cannot have it and google get's away with still keeping chrome and android.
>>106467174finally>>106467130S
>>106467130I'm sure it will be fine, Google will figure out some other scheme to pay them.
Good, less browsers to develop for
If Firefox goes, Safari will be the only major browser holding out against the Chromium tide.
>>106467174But they said in the ruling that Google can pay for having search, but can't pay for exclusivity.Google doesn't have exclusivity in Firefox.
>>106467243>>106467174Google will pay them for a default extension that will change the homepage to Google.com.
>>106467422The issue lies with the definition of exclusivity. The judge, I feel, was just trying really hard to come up with an excuse to set Google free and that's how you end it up with that travesty of a ruling.
>>106467188Sexo lain
>>106467464How is it a bad ruling? Users WANT Google as the default. If they didn't pay them they'd still end up as the default anyway if it gets changed to yahoo or bing or some shit but then Mozilla would barely see a dime. If anything this saves other companies from gimping their own products by sliding in a 2-bit default instead of the gold standard in.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-02/google-not-required-to-sell-chrome-in-court-antitrust-ruling??? Nothing burger
>>106467480Because in a better world Google would have to sell Chrome and start from scratch. It would significantly hamper its data collection and hold of the mobile and desktop market. Consequentially it would open the market for alternatives for a little while. There are probably more implications to this that I can't see right now.Or maybe Google would just fork Chromium and create Silvium and this would be another nothingburger. Go figure. Idk
>>106467174Which part of the ruling says they can't have it? If the deal with Apple is ok, the deal with Mozilla should be ok too
I am confident that Firefox 140 ESR will still work with most websites for at least 5 more years.Anons like to spread FUD that you will be blocked from the internet or instantly get malware as soon as your browser or operating system is discontinued. Driving a classic car is way more dangerous than using legacy software. Do you guys sperg every time you see an old car on the road? Why is 1% chance of ransomware scary but 1% chance of dying in a fiery wreck okay?
>>106467553Chromium is already open source software, it makes 0 sense to think that "selling" it would do anything. People don't want Chome, they want the Google Web Browser. They'd just spin off chromium and start Google Web and be right where they were before, and whoever was dumb enough to buy Chrome would be stuck with the equivalent of Microsoft Edge, just some non-google chromium knockoff.
>>106467629What a strange comparison. To answer your question, I wouldn't do either. Both are a disaster waiting to happen. If you don't update your browser, you become more and more likely to hit drivebys such as this:>https://blog.cloudflare.com/uncovering-the-hidden-webp-vulnerability-cve-2023-4863/>The vulnerability allows an attacker to create a malformed WebP image file that makes libwebp write data beyond the buffer memory allocated to the image decoder. By writing past the legal bounds of the buffer, it is possible to modify sensitive data in memory, eventually leading to execution of the attacker's code.
>>106467664Intead of selling Chrome they could forbid them from having their own browser so they can't fork a browser.
>>106467130What happened?I noticed FFZ i use for twitch emotes is no longer working. Was there a bad update?
>>106471116>FFZ instead of 7TV in the year 2025aint no way unc frfr on god fr
>>106467329Safari is internet explorer tier bad.
>>106471128You need bttv or ffz to get 7tv? Who cares anyway, i just want my emotes back.
>>106467147fpbp
>>106471116twitch changed something on their end. install FFZ as a userscript instead of an extension, but only disable the extension the first time you open twitch so your settings don't get lost
>>1064711287tv plugin is shit, ffz with 7tv enabled is the way to go zoomzoom>>106471176userscript version already updated to fix it
>>106471128ffz has the "no bad emotes" addon in it, you can get rid of the annoying monka and peepo emotes pretty easily
>>106467130>>106467174>It's about the google money, they cannot have it that's a lie:>>106467833better luck next time, drooling retard. not only will apple and mozilla keep getting money from google, the courts seem to think that's ok. lmao.
>>106467174What does any of that have to do with firefox?
>>106467174aged like fine wine
>>106467329Epiphany
I hope mozilla gets a big slap in the face, fuck the trannies and their furry browser
