>Oh wow, USB-C>It's just another micro USB port in disguise, running 5W charging and not supporting OTGThis shit should be illegal, enforce USB-4 standards NOW
>>106468012>enforce USB-4 standards NOWWHY?! It's a feature phone not a workstation.
>>106468060It's about not having to keep a USB-A 2.0 to USB-C cable around. You will not be able to charge this phone with a USB-C to C cable.
>>106467829You'll go back to smartphones in under a month.
>>106467829yes
>>106467829Similar phones priced anywhere from $10 to $50, often have broken, 30 times per day rebooting software. This is Torch with GSM, $50.

>>106467829thanks for the recommendation, I'll get one if my CAT B25 ever dies.
>>106467862as opposed to smartphones that have dedicated hardware that reads everything you do on your phone?
>>106467829Making voice calls is the one thing I do least often on my smartphone. If I had a dumbphone, it would literally just lie around most of the time. So if that is what you want, go for it.If you actually just want less distraction, how about you just disable notifications for everything?
>>106467829No! You won't have access to 2FA.
>>106472357most places still only have SMS-based "2fa"
>>106467829At least get something 5G with wifi data hotspot. Then you can use a laptop for real computer needs.
>>106472570any suggestions that aren't smartphones?
>>106467829What a coincidence, I was also in the market for rugged "dumb" phone beause of the 2027 Android cuckening. Unfortunately a nearly all dumb phones in the US market run cuckdroid (the "Go" version) including my current Cat S22.The only other option is KaiOS but 1. No rugged models2. KaiOS phones are incompatible with my local carrier SIMs.
>>106472585Yes, get a calyx institute 5G hotspot. Yes it's $700 the first year, $600 thereafter, but it's unlimited data and its anonymous.
>>106472653is this available in Europe? I can't tell by looking at their website
>>106472628>are compatible*aren't. which sucks because fuck cuckdroid and so-ios
>>106467829Those are like 20$ on eBay last I saw. That’s how much I paid for mine last year
>>106467829>large fontmarketed toward boomers
>>106467829>no dual transceiver 2gEnjoy your fast battery drain
What do y'all need "rugged" phones for? Just don't drop it on concrete or run over it with your car and it'll be fine
>>106473307>just stop being genetically clumsy!
How about you start paying attention to things you're holding in your hands and make sure to put them away properly when you don't need them? "But I'm clumsy" is just a bad excuse for people who refuse to learn proper usage patterns. Constantly fumbling and dropping shit? Learn to put stuff down in a secure location when you're not actively using it. Keep knocking stuff off your table? Pay attention to your "danger zone" and just place things outside these areas. Start handling your own body like a dangerous, unpredictable machine. Stubbed your toe at the same piece of furniture again? Your body clearly prefers to move in a certain way that is incompatible with your furniture placement, so acknowledge that and move the furniture out of the way or wrap a piece of foam around it.If you *know* you're gonna fumble things, it's easy to take precautions. Buying a rugged phone isn't, because you won't learn how to avoid dropping it like this. It just feeds into your belief that you're "naturally clumsy" and there's no way you can fix that. Because you can, if you're not a retard.Besides, dumbphones are usually sturdy enough already for "normal" people. Rugged dumbphones are for people on construction sites or hunters who shit in the woods regularly, where dust and moisture is an issue. If you're clumsy, you shouldn't be near a construction site or hunting in the woods anyway. But whatever, this is a fucking online forum. Buy whatever you like, you're gonna be judged either way.
>>106467829No no no no nononononono no no!!!!!I hope this reply gets read in time before it is too late. Do not buy that phone!AGM is *poison*. I had one of their phones and I endured it for two months before having to give up.To make a long story short, the fucker would randomly decide to not make calls. THE WHOLE POINT OF A PHONE IS TO MAKE (and take) CALLS.I got a TLS semi-dumb phone. Much better. Night and day.
no AGM is shit. if you want rugged, get a CAT S22 flipif you want a dumb phone that can do smart things get a TCL Flip 2 with AOSP
>>106474710>the corpo that made cat phones went out of business last year>s=(((smartphone)))no
>>106467829I have the feeling, that the golden age of dumbphones is over. Everything what is produced today is quality wise not comparable to phones from back in the day. Be it battery lifetime, build quality and other small details. I noticed that dumbphones from today (even from Nokia) have a lot of design flaws, which would be back than intolerable.
>>106472911And that is bad because........
>>106473307Shit happens no matter how careful you are and some people, like military personnel, LEO and outdoorsmen, need rugged devices for emegencies. I got sick of cracked screens on pussy slate consoomer-phones and every phone I bought since then was rugged. Not everybody lives 24/7 in a comfy gooncave surrounded by moeshit statues, dakimakuras and wall-scrolls lving off tendies.
>>106475305>Not everybody lives 24/7 in a comfy gooncave surrounded by moeshit statues, dakimakuras and wall-scrolls lving off tendies. No, but people who come here to ask "Should I, bros?" over a cheap dumbphone purchase do.Those people you have described already know they need rugged shit and don't have to ask /g/ for their (usually shitty) opinion.
>>106467829does it support VoLTE?i had a 4G LTE phone, but it stopped working with my carrier because it it's support 4GVoLTE specifically
I spend a lot of time on my computer, so I'm sure that's the same IF NOT WORSE than people addicted to their phones, but on my actual phone I primarily use it for:>listening to Music / Podcasts>taking pictures>navigation when drivingoh, and>making the rare phone callI rarely browse the internet on it.
