To me it feels like perfection, like a true successor to Windows 7. It's a bit barebones but it werks well and doesn't need to do much more than that.
>>106470738Same, but it freezes sometimes for no reason.
>>106470738Never had any issues, love it. I did have to get some mod from somewhere to make the active window more highlighted, and I also had to manually add the old sounds but other than that it's great
Mint with Cinnamon has been the best version of Linux for almost 10 years
>>106470738Tbh I absolutely love it, as someone who changed from windows its just the best distro to transition into. It is the perfect combination of being easy enough to work on its own, and in the same time being customizable enough that you can basically change pretty much everything you want to suit your needs. Ideally you will have to tinker with it for a week or two till it becomes convinient to use, but I'd say its worth it. You won't ever have to deal with bullshit from Microsoft like search browser in your start menu, forced updates, or how you cant uninstall certain programs (like edge or their cloud services). You will feel liberated, you will finally feel like YOU OWN YOUR COMPUTER, not the way around.
>>106470927old sounds?
>>106470903Just like windows
>>106470903Have been running Cinnamon on 4 computers with very different hardware for years, never experienced even a single freeze.>>106470738You can customize it quite a bit with extensions, if you want to.
>>106470738i just dont care about the DE anymore man its all just fluff. once you have dmenu or rofi, and use that to launch any program. you dont need the fancy startmenu popup showing you categories and stuff.if i want to see that, i can launch a software suite program that lets me see everything i have installed. only time i want to do that is to remove shit. i just think everyone should move to tiling window manager, i use dwm. it never crashes ever. its ultra fast and performant. it just works and has worked and the keyboard shortcuts are muscle memory, and i plop it on any new computer.
still runs embedded spyware geoclue
>>106472297How are you gonna use dwm when every distro moves to Wayland?
>>106472781i guess i dont think that will really happen, do you have evidence its going to go that way? maybe in 20 years or something?at that point i'd just be using some crappy older software/hardware i guess. just like how people still use windows 7. all the entertainment we have at our fingertips and programming tools/languages have basically plateaued. theres infinite content available and things to do and i dont need to move to wayland to do it.
>>106470738It looks good and just works, not a big fan of the square icons though
My favourite for a while. >>106472895Looks better with Papirus & different font & all animations disabled.
