A lot of /g/entoomen buy old hardware but how many of you still use your old hardware after many years?

I still have my X200t I bought in 2013 and still use it sometimes, mostly to play old vidya or as a travel laptop because I can't travel with just a phone.

i daily a thinkpad t60 which is from about 2006/2007. i bought it used back in 2010 or so. over the years i have replaced every single part on it several times over.
i dual boot xp and slackware. if i need more power then i remote into another machine. i can use my modern windows machine via rdp. i can use my stronger linux machines via ssh.
i prefer this machine because the screen is gentle on my eyes. the old school ccfl backlight doesn't give me a headache like all the new computers now. the keyboard is also excellent as is the trackpoint.

I bought my laptop in 2013. It's an asus s56. I replaced the tiny msata ssd that was used for cache with a bigger one and reinstalled windows 7 on it. I upgraded the 500gb spinning drive with a 1tb one and used it for storage. I added another 4gb ram stick to the original 4gb one. I replaced the dvd drive with one of those hdd caddies for extra storage capacity. I used it like that up until 2023, when the webp exploit made me scared enough to move to linux. I'm still using the same hardware.
Hard to believe it's 12 years old. It's slim and light enough to look modern, but has a lot of different ports instead of like two usb-c and nothing else. The only shitty thing is the screen.

The oldest computer I use occasionally is a T420s used for auto diagnostics

And many Haswell desktops around the house and other buildings

How old are we talking
My main laptop is 11 years old now, just replaced the battery a few times and it still runs fine. It's actually still a light laptop even compared to modern ones.

yes, I love those old time capsules, It motivates me to play my decades old backlog, recently rediscovered bad mojo and man that was a trip
>how many of you still use your old hardware after many years?
It depends of the purpose of the machine, for a youtube machine a high end c2q or a 1st gen i7 is the cutoff for me, I don't understand how people force themselves to such harsh low performance computers to just make a point when >2018 performance is available for 50 bucks
