How does 4chan deal with the schizo question now that the IP counter has been removed? I'm asking this genuinely because it seems like no one has a clear answer. A significant amount of engagement on this website comes from a small group of deranged maniacs constantly posting on cooldown every day. The moderators don't seem to have any issue with what is verifiably spam, so they let the schizos run rampant. If said schizos would just use a tripcode, they'd be indistinguishable from namefags, but they go out of their way to pretend they're multiple people when it's obviously one guy. To add on, interacting with these schizos and trying to have a dialogue with them is pointless. None of them are interested in establishing a motive for their insane behavior and just want to ruin 4chan for everybody. Lots of small generals have their own dedicated schizos, and in some cases (like /v/) it's impossible to comfortably discuss certain topics because the schizo will inevitably barge in and begin spamming nonsense.I can honestly say I'd be perfectly fine with 4chan being compromised by shills and bots if it meant the schizos would be dealt with. Someone paid to post here is just a useful idiot, and bots are always easy to spot. Schizos are a scourge and present a legitimate existential issue for the future of anonymous imageboards.
>>106473064I get called "schizo" a lot when I post. I used to use a trip and a name so people could filter me, but instead they used it to search for my threads to harass me more efficiently. It effectively was nothing but a targeting beacon for trolls, so I stopped using it.>t. Doctor Eli Selig
>"schizos"it's to enable rampant, government-funded, hiro-approved psyopsfeels like maybe only 30% of global traffic in this shithole are still sincere users, and on good day
>>106473224Define "sincere users".
engage other posters solely on their ideas and not directly as individuals.schizo posters don't matter because their opinions are retarded. they don't even have an identity, it's just a pac-man ghost saying gibberish.
IP counter doesnt help much anyway because a lot of these freaks obsessively switch IPIP counter and literal IDs didn't make a difference for /pol/, I can't imagine any of it would help the other boards
>>106473064CIA niggers that's why
>>106473258this is literally the point of an anonymous boardsad that so few anons get it these days
>>106473064Hate chan did it best. Persistent ID on every thread. You could actually have a discussion and elaborate on ideas there.
>>106473984Kinda' wish they'd do that here.
>>106473064Hiro doesn't care. Post quality doesn't matter, it's all about passive ad income. This is just a pet theory but I personally believe the obfuscation is to let shilling run more rampant and since most users here run adblock (or so I hope) then the best way to advertise is to spam threads and keep bumping them to fake engagement. You see this a lot with /v/ gacha threads that are often "disguised" as generic coom threads. They are the most inorganic shit but always hit bump limit thanks to gets tier posts and the like, but they are allowed to be constantly spammed despite the generals existing. And for the projecting retards: If you want to play these games and talk about it, go ahead whatever, I don't care. I'm only using them as an example. >>106473258Also this, but the problem is that there are a lot of impressionable lurkers who after reading a schizo talking to themselves over and over again might end up adopting their stance. So in a way it is sort of a lose-lose situation when it comes to increasing discussion quality.
>>106473965The point of an anonymous image board is whatever the bulk of the users want it to be. There is no cosmic law that says everyone has to behave according to your ideals. If you don't like soecific threads or posts, just don't visit them. I ignore the Apple shill threads, because I don't care about Apple products. It really is that easy.
>>106474088/v/ has always had porn threads and with the declined quality of games and general state of the internet and porn addiction etc it makes sense there'd be more of itthough I wouldn't be surprised if certain gacha companies do (indirectly) market on /v/
>>106474109Yes, you are correct, I just feel like it has gotten much worse. iirc some of them (forgot which exactly, saw screenshots in a thread) do marketing surveys for some meaningless in-game currency and they do mention 4chan in them.
>>1064730644chan has been dead for several years now.80% of thread (if not more) are initiated by bots or thirdies./g/ is a great example of it. It's 80% of chink advertisement & propaganda.
>>106474155If you make a thread that isn't one of these things it will be flooded by soiposters calling you "tranny".
>>106473064very important question:what do you mean by schizos?
>>106473064>now that the IP counter has been removed? It's almost as if the purpose of that was to hide the blatant Russian and Chinese botting that Hiro gets paid to ignore.
>>106474607>bc eglintrannies arent a thingif you cite one, cite them all
>>106473064>The moderators don't seem to have any issue with what is verifiably spamThat spamming is enabled by the 4Chan Pass. (lower cooldown + no captcha)The mods would shoot themselves in the foot if they prevented it.That website's bad actors are also its true clients. The normal users, who brings in no money, are the product.
>>106474705i think it depends on whos jannyingjay doesnt fucking share for instancewhen hes jannying only mac shilling is approvedkinda fukken based ngl
>>106473231me sincerely.
>>106474573you can probably answer your question yourself if you think for a second
>>106473064It's kinda funny how no one gives a shit about the site, not the mods, the owners, not the users, the internet's trash island.
>>106474962thats the problemi thought for a secondand it could go either wayeither a normie calls people skitzos bc they are into the dark side of thingsor a dark sider calls normies skitzos bc theyre legit schizopherenic>muhy freeedumb of speech but dont touch the protected classesit really could go either way
>>106473123>I used to use a trip and a name so people could filter me>I wanted attentionftfy faggot

Back in whatever year it was, the 4chan mods and janitors — who are historically some of the dumbest people on this website, the sole reason it's not any fun, going so far back as the era of WT Snacks — decided to create a Q&A board. This board was made because janitor activity was deemed opaque and inconsistent. Rather than go to some IRC to yell into a void, users could post on this board and provide feedback rather than complain on the boards.Predictably nothing productive came of this. The Q&A board received a small handful of answers from mods to bad actors, demanding /pol/ be deleted, and after that the board was totally ignored by the site staff. Around this same time janitors did what they always did: decide they personally dislike something and begin aggressively pruning it, then doling out disproportionate punishment. That thing? S.o.y.jaks. Why did they dislike these jaks so much? Based on janitor leaks, probably because they resembled that cartoon to an absurdly accurate degree. So you have a failed Q&A board, where none of the promises made surrounding the board were kept, and something that obviously annoyed the janitors. These two were (predictably) combined by spiteful users. Never ones to miss an opportunity to do something stupid, the mods and janitors then deleted the Q&A board. If you have been on 4chan for a long time, you recognize DFA is how they handle most problems.Fast forward a couple years and you have s.o.y.jak websites that host CP, leading to discord groups who blackmail teenagers to make more CP, actual literal murders over internet beefs, 4chan getting hacked, and more. The moderators and janitors have learned absolutely nothing and continue to enable all of the above, in addition to being awful at their "job" of keeping the website usable. tl;dr - bad, useless people (many of whom have jobs in the US government, based on the dox) annoyed a virtual population of social misfits too hard and now everyone is paying for it.
>>106475505yeah but you still have fuck all to saypedos gtfohsub 80iq niggerst. not a jany btw
>>106475505>many of whom have jobs in the US government, based on the doxAre you referring to when the hack happened and loads of faggots spread lies about there being .gov email addresses, when in reality there were none whatsoever?
>>106475537.edubc retards gotta retardand how fukken retarded left wing academics can be...i saw the leaksit was a whole heap of nothingand the jannie board sounding like the majority trying to gen ui n el ydo their jobsand thats how we could sanitize g somewhat but thats another storytldr:4 keks might be graybut at its core its still an image board
>>106473258pretty much this but at some point you get instances where only the schizo replies to your posts and nobody else is willing to have a discussion>>106473123this will never be done (outside of pol) but having a id per poster in a thread would address that>easy to bypassit addresses your stated use case
>>106475556Exactly, claiming that having an .edu addy means you work in "le big scary government" is nothing short of hilarious. The sort of thing I'd expect 12 year olds would come up.
>>106475595it was a shitpost from shartyhomosbut then..they have connections to anonymouseand who says anonymouse says three letter agenciesbut also knowing shartyhomos they could 100% run with the gov thing just bc shitpostingand with three letter'ers either reinforcing the fad or notor maybe independently picking it upand also it doesnt mean there isnt gov employees at jany positionsfake papers are certainly not a problem for gov tier orgsand even belowan enigma wrapped in a mysteryidk about you but these meta musing will make it so that even at its deadest4 chan is still gonna be entertaining
>>106473064it sucks but i suspect it was all done to boost engagement. when the thread heats up and you don't know who is which, anons are more likely to post moreit hurts the site long term desu as some people will inevitably get frustrated and leaveon paper, the system works out as long as the users behave and the mods give fair judgement (yeah right)things like the IP counter, poster ID all help in at least relieving some of the mod burden as users can see who is who and if the thread has been raided/polluted instead of just clicking reportnone are perfect but transparency goes a long way
>>106475337>>I wanted attentionYeah, retard. That is the entire purpose of any human social activity. There is no reason to make a programming language if nobody else ever sees or uses it and there would be nonreason to use 4Chan if it had no other human users. The entire reason to do it is to discuss it with other people and to try to get them to use it.
>>106475537No but if I post the name or even the email address it's an automatic all-board 365 day ban. Just go look at Fruit Farms.
>>106475754>implying a gov agency would sign up with a .gov address>t. kiwitranies...yeah, sure, why not even .eglin while you re at it?
>>106475782Someone is very aggressive toward this idea 4chan's staff has federal agents on it.
>>106475754>>106475782but you know what?i saw a funny name in the lista name known by poltardsand when i said, on the sharty>hey thats a funneh nameimmediately i was met with the response>nah thats not who you think it isthat was funneh
>>106475814they probably havetheres dozens of janiesbut like i saidat its core, 4 chan is an imageboardand from my experience the staff are on our sidebut they also have to protect their own neckand three letters are still monitoring things- as jannies or not
>>106473064It's impossible now, this site is botted as fuck.4chan is a relic of the past, imageboards cannot coexist on the modern internet, too many genuinely disturbed individuals, normalniggers, thirdies, ai etc have been responsible for deranging and lowering the quality of discussion (at least outside /b/) to extremely low levels. Plus, for some reason, imageboards tend to attract trolls in masse. On top of that, 4chan has too many enemies right now and this place is castrated (raids are banned) so we can't defend it.I don't think this place will last much longer.
