Should I learn Rust if I'm normal?
>>106473881YesAre you normal?
>>106473881i thought that was a nogger but it's a different shape
I think a slight touch of the 'tism will help at appreciating the finer points of programming. That said, everyone will benefit from learning it and using it in a small project, if only to learn why their way of doing things sucks.
>>106473881AI will replace you
>>106473881do you eat the thumbs up first or let it live for as long as possible?
>>106473881it's found it's niche but you become an abnormal tranny if you feel the need to shoehorn it into everything you do. if you are fine with learning it for network systems it's a good fit
>>106473923>lick the nogger, goy
>>106473881>Should I learn Rust if I'm normal? As long as you understand which niche uses it is a good fit for, and you don't think it's a good idea to use it for EVERYTHING, then it's ok.
>>106473881
>>106473881yeah, if you wanna max out your employment chancesits something to put in your cvand HR likes current thing-istsi suspect rust in resume is equivalent to having leftist takes on social media
>>106473881I learn JavaScript instead, it is the best and I can use it in frontend AND backend, very versatile.
You should learn everything. Learn Python, Clojure, $your_favorite_lisp, C, Rust, Ocaml or F# (it was supposed to be just a port), C++ (but pick a subset otherwise you'll just waste your life on Earth), Go and Ada.
>>106474915only if employment is a goalyou dont want to spec your brain into memory retention otherwisethe more you learn, the less resources you have for problem solvingi went to a talent cultivatorand i ran circles around people who had 15+ more iq points than i dothats bc im specced into problem solving, to the detriment of data retentionin fact, i have a perfectly average memorybut i have a massive visualization power
>>106474958Based. And if anyone wants to be like that, just learn math.
>>106473881If you're a straight cis White male you should learn C#.
>>106474977maths worked for you?in my experience mathbois usually are the data retention typesand it takes someone truly exceptional to master ALL of maths and still retain superior problem solving abilitiesif thats you, then more power to youand stop wasting your time in here, go conquer the world
>>106474997>cisI still don't know what this word means, sounds gay
>>106475002>maths worked for you?Never said one should learn all math. But I'm saying learn the useful stuff, discrete, probability, calc, lambda calc, linear algebra. The more advanced stuff like analysis and numerical methods comes when dealing with numbers, but that's down the road.
>>106475080ah okmakes perfect sense>learn the tools, dont learn the bloattools are important. thats kinda the whole story of humanity, kekwe are a technological species, and some tools are abstract
>>106475143I think you may be arguing against your own point. Learn the tool would be the same as learning (or getting gud) at programming languages. Unless you meant learn tools of thinking, in which case I agree wholeheartedly. But this is a bit perverse at its core, because what teaches how to break things down and work carefully through a small amounts of computation can easily be dismissed by someone rampaging through math formulas. I think learn the useful fields, yeah, but also learn how they came to be. In a way, delving a bit deep into how these logical constructs came to be is actually THE thing to become good at problem solving; to reformulate my point. But then again, I'm a bit dense when it comes to proofs and always had a hard time understanding them. Guess that's where I should focus my efforts to actually git gud at this stuff.Very productive conversations, thanks a lot, anon. Good day.

>>106473881i love biting off the bits that stick out first
>>106475347wow.i didnt think things through as thoroughly but i 100% agreetheres a vast difference between learning something as a procedureand learning something as a conceptvery productive conversation indeed, i didnt even have words for what we just exchangedthanks anongood day to you too
