Isn't the battery more damaged by discharging below a certain threshold than by charging over a certain threshold ?
does it always go past 80 %?it should go to 100 % every once in a while (every few weeks) for calibration. if it does, keep it plugged at 100 % until the shield icon appears on the battery.
lol i had the same issue on my shitty xiaomi tablet, it just magically fixed itself after some time. I have updates disabled
