My suggestion is to try and only listen to music through the ft1 pro's (or any headphones) for a week straight and then switch to the airpods again, that's where you'll notice the most differences. FWIW I think the airpods pro2 are worth about $30-$40 maximum in terms of sound quality. You're paying for the convenience, software, battery life, superb ANC etc not just the sound.
