I'm gonna use my 5700x3d until at least socket AM7, keep seething mossad, no amount of shilling and useless new 'features' will make me switch

1600AFchad here. I have too many options still on AM4 to bother to change sockets. I'm riding this dragon until at least AM6, God is my witness.

still going strong on my amd k6-2 333 oc to 400

I still use a GTX970 and an I5-2500k
>>
>>106479288
I don't really care, I could afford getting a new AM5 system. Got a 8600G for now, waiting for the 9600G with the 860M gpu to switch to, it's supposed to come out end of 2025. I can sell the old chip for 75% the price after switching.
>>
FX-8350 still going strong niggas!
>>
Not sure what gaymin companies are trying to do but...
I went with AM4 for my new PC build.

I built a 5500+9060XT for under $500.

A garage sale PC I bought had a case, big 120mm fans, asrock motherboard and 16gb of ddr4 3200mhz RAM all for $60 but I haggled down to $50 since they said it was an old parts AM4 PC that had no use since they built a new one and all I had was a 50 dollar bill. No CPU, GPU or PSU but that was okay.

I bought a new Ryzen 5500 for $80
I bought a new 9060 XT for $300
I bought a new PSU from thermaltake for $35 on sale

I will probably use this computer for the next 10 years abd Maybe I'll upgrade when the 5800X3D gets under $100. AM4 is eternal. I will never switch from 1080p desu lmao.

I can pretty much play any game I want with zero compromise at 144fps+
>>
>>106479585
No one can covince you bastards are paying your utility bill.

>>106479662
AM4 really is the GTX 1080 of AMD. They won't make the same mistake again.
>>
Swapped 6700k for 9600x

why would they seethe? they already got you to consoom the new product, real chads still use 2500k, you're just a npc beta cuck buying the shiny new thing
>>
Why do people on this board keep posting cope about being so impoverished that they can't afford to upgrade their computer more than every 15 years? What causes this mental illness?
>>

SAAAAAAR PLEASE DO NOT TALK ABOUT MY EWASTE STATION LIKE THAT, THANK YOU!
>>
>>106479996
Why is am5 better again?
>>
>>106479288
Actually based.
I'm currently using 9800X3D but when AM5 will die I'll just buy last top of the line CPU instead of moving to the next platform (of course if that would make sense, if there wouldn't be any gains I'll just stay on my current CPU)
>>
>>106480040
>if there wouldn't be any gains I'll just stay on my current CPU
That has never happen in the history of those companies.
>>
>>106479996
Aint a 5800X3D only like 10% slower on average on most games that matter above 144fps vs the 7800X3D

Why should someone upgrade.
>>
>>106480144
The 7800x3d is not 15 years older. Also, 10% is massive holy shit that's a huge upgrade. Are you sure it's that big?
>>
>>106480017
LGA socket.
>>
i5 650 bro here. I'm considering upgrading my motherboard from the LGA 1156 supported H55 to LGA 1155 Supported H61, and the cpu to i7 3770k, maybe even H81 and 4790k.

>Why
My i5 650 works flawlessly but some games I want to play need AVX (like the Yakuza Remasters, despite the fact that Kiwami 2, released after Yakuza 6 in the same engine runs flawlessly on my machine after they recompiled it without AVX), and I also want to learn AVX/AVX2 for when the patents expire in 6 and 8 years respectively.

Also, it's nigh impossible to find 4 GiB ramsticks for my DDR3 UDIMM sockets, and so I'm running off a 4GiB machine that has to swap like crazy on a HDD when I run more than one program, and I have a spare 8GiB DDR3 dimm so it'd be useful to have 12GiB of RAM.

ZX-Spectrum

ill can only give you my rules. it has to be at least 4x in raw performance than what i have now and no better than the third best thing that generation.
>>
>>106479288
Is it still in production? Feels like it might be a nice upgrade to my Ryzen 1.

how do YOU benchmark a CPU in gaming?
>>
>>106484102
You shouldn't. Getting a Ryzen 5000 CPU for dead platform/socket (AM4) with 3D-cache was the dumb choice.
>>
>>106484173
why dont you go all the way tho? run it at 480p... wait no resolution actually plays a major part in forming the representation of the frame that needs to be sent to the gpu wvery frame. if we lower it then we wont get an acurate read on how much the cpu has to do... that wont work. wait i answered my own question (and demonstrated the point of why lowering the resolution even in a cpu test is bad practice) silly me teehee
>>
>>106484239
You'd get even more GPU dependent scores though.
>>
>>106484476
sure. this is why you need to use actually cpu bound games to test cpus. just look at that graph. its obvious that as soon as we started missing cache, and we totally could do with resolution and its aide effects, that those x3d chips would tank. also is you really going to expect me to believe a 9800x3d has 10% or better on a 7800x3d? nah nigger, something else fucky is going on there.
>>
>>106484534
>also is you really going to expect me to believe a 9800x3d has 10% or better on a 7800x3d?
Yep, look at recoded benchmarks if you don't believe it. Ryzen 7000 is Zen 4, Ryzen 9000 is Zen 5, all new uarch.

What does this mean? I have zero knowlege of obscured social cues anon, sorry.

He probably means, since you've been able to hold out longer than him, you're the stronger one.
