FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.
irm https://get.activated.win | iex

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

>What version should I install?
>W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
Binary identical to Enterprise except no MS Store or apps
Preinstalled with: Edge & Win32 system apps
10 years support on "IoT LTSC", 5 for "LTSC"

IoT LTSC 2022: https://pastebin.com/rHcgvYS7

>W11 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2024
Same as W10 version except:

Use only if you fell for the 12th+ gen Intel meme and need the new CPU scheduler
Wait for IoT LTSC 2027 if you can

>Installing apps on LTSC
Use WinGet/Scoop or install MS Store in CMD with: wsreset -i

Hey! Just like modern Windows is programmed! Lots of spaghetti AI code!
>>
>>106480969
It hasn't really changed. Most of the codebase is still legacy code.

Alright guys I'm so done installing OS over and over again, just tell me what to use and I'll stick to it. Windows 10 ltsc or 11 ltsc?

I swear that games feel more smooth in windows 10 (could be placebo idk), but after spending so much time using windows 11 at home, work and in college, I actually got used to the UI and I can't help but feel that win10 looks ugly in comparison to 11.
>>
>>106482068
10 iot ltsc
then 11 iot ltsc or 12 iot ltsc when 2032 rolls around
>>
>>106482068
I'd keep to windows 10 iot ltsc for now. And rather switch to windows 11 iot when either the programs I want to use don't work (the only one I know of is newest photoshop, and I use CC15 still) or the 2027 release of windows 11 iot ltsc is an improvement
>>
What are you guys going to do when LTSC 2021 loses support?
>>
>>106482503
I mean that's literally 7 years into the future.
>>
Man I want to try World of Tanks, but I have more space on the windows drive than the linux drive. Please hurry up, Microsoft.
>>
>>106482878
War Thunder is better, sorry
>>
>>106480180
Add task bar height shortner.
Further gripe being that Explorer Patcher doesn't work on Windows 11 ;_;
>>
>>106482892
Already have it installed on linux, so not a problem. But all the marketing for that 2.0 update has me interested in at least trying it out, and I have space on the Windows drive.

Do I download the zip on the MAS github page? Sorry for noob question.
>>
>>106483476
You can, or you can use it through the irm powershell command.
>>
>>106483487
Are you saying option 1 is just run the powershell command without downloading anything or option 2 download the zip, unpack it and run the script?
>>
>>106483547
Option 1 downloads the script to the temp folder with a random hash so it doesn't trip Defender.
>>
https://github.com/farag2/Sophia-Script-for-Windows

is this any good?
>>
>>106483636
Gotcha. So downloading would only be necessary when you want to activate a PC with no internet connection, right? I mean download from a connected device and transfer it on a USB stick to the PC you want activated.
>>
>>106483675
Yes, the manual script is mainly for offline activation methods that it can use.
>>
>>106483087
Thanks for letting us know.
>>
>>106483691
Alright, thanks!
>>
is it just me or Win11 feels way more stable than Win10? Seems they just got their shit together and asking for higher requirements was the right way to go for ironing out bugs
>>
>muh win 10 support running out!
>not just disabling updates as soon as your windows installation finishes

I have been doing this for 10+ years and never had a single issue or my bank account hacked.

What is your excuse?
>>
>>106480180
Does Win 11 IoT LTSC let you install it without an online account out of the box? I mean without hacky workarounds.
>>
>>106482068
Win10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 has the least amount of things you have to change to keep it from downloading, installing, and otherwise changing shit without your knowledge or consent. That alone makes it better than the rest.
