Install spotify with spotx instead of using it in the browser, uBO doesn't work well with it

Try Basilisk, K-Meleon, Dillo... or don't use jeetscript goyslop
>>
>>106483405
Are we talking PC or mobile, just to be sure?

Random crashes are very rare in my experience, and I use it like 15 hours a day and have done so for decades now.

I can't help you with Spotify as I've rarely used it, it seems very annoying to use. But maybe it's an adblocking issue rather than a Firefox one. Or maybe your settings are too strict and it's interfering with something, check under Tools > Settings > Privacy and Security.

>>106483466
You could try Brave or Vivaldi. They're Chromium forks that are sticking with Manifest V2 extensions as far as I know. Brave even has built-in adblocking so it's worth keeping as a backup. Well, technically Vivaldi does as well I think, but it's not as good at adblocking.

Aaaand windows defender just found a trojan inside.

you can read the source code as well and check for le trojan
>>
>>106483563
Not that anon, but are you sure it's not a false positive? Did you get it off their official GitHub page? Maybe upload the installer or executable through VirusTotal and see what percentage deem it suspicious. If it's a small number, it's likely a false positive. And the Issues page on their Git does say that it triggers false positives.
>>
>>106483594
It detected the installation script as a trojan. Might be a false positive ( >>106483603 ) but I don't care enough to risk it.
>>
>>106483622
the github page has 18k stars and the script isn't even long. Do you really think somebody wouldn't have noticed the trojan already?

Maybe spotx being a patcher doesn't trigger the spotify corpas as bad as a standalone client. It could definitely happen though, but I think they know that if they shut down one adblocker another will pop up eventually

>the most recent firefox update broke all my extensions
I'm on the latest update of the regular edition (Windows) and it works fine. I've got a thousand extensions. Why did yours break? Are you sure it's not just one of them that's dragging all the others down? I've had that happen with some adblocker back in the day, way before uBlock Origin became the obvious choice.
>>
>>106484822
yeah i should check them a bit more carefully since i confrimed it's a brower specific issue
>>
>>106484523
I've had plenty of issues with it throughout the years, but it's usually the website's fault (YouTube in 90% of cases) and Firefox updates fixed it rather quickly.
>>

Other that being a little slower compared to chromium browsers and some shitty websites not developing enough for Firefox it works great.

Does anyone here visit sankakucomplex? That website stalls the entire browser on Firefox. While watching videos, the CPU will eventually increase in usage, the video stops, and every single tab stalls/loses internet. This literally only affects firefox.

>>
>>106483466
Anything based on Chromium is just Chrome. And the only other browsers on the market... are derivatives of Firefox. It's basically a diopoly.

At least Firefox doesn't answer directly to Alphabet; though even then, I recommend not using the main Firefox-- lately it's been riddled with AI (including an AI chatbot sidebar and AI-labeled tab groupings) that may be the source of some of your issues (and DEFINITELY cause performance issues). Luckily, there are plenty of forks to choose from if you go looking. https://lwn.net/Articles/1012453/ This article lists a few of 'em, though the author assumes you're using Linux (and a few of those forks may be Linux-exclusive)

Hey, me too. The whole appdata (sans some microsoft folders and literal trash) has been through so many reinstalls. I probably have files from way back when I first installed windows 7.

I've went with Brave after using FireFox for two decades.
Chromium is snappier, benchmarks show that it's more than twice faster and every user script executes better.
Using the built-in adblocker since it has the smallest penalty on performance and it just works.

uBlock origin, consent-o-matic and bypass paywalls clean.
>>
>>106492658

>>
>>106492662
Hmm... Maybe switch Consent-o-Matic with "I still don't care about cookies". Normally I'd say just use the uBlock Origin filter list that blocks cookie consent formes, but that's not always enough. Consent-o-matic is very bad in my experience though, it just lets a ton of stuff through. I don't know if it's what's causing your crashes though. Also, I tend to keep the Paywall Bypass one deactivated until I actually need it so I can't comment on that.

Of course the cause doesn't have to be extension related, it's just the first thing I try to rule out whenever I have browser issues.

I'm sure that many other Microsoft employees agree, but that doesn't matter. Many other Chromium forks work even better.

You either have to change a junk load of settings.
Or install a fork.
Lot of people seem to like zen browser.
A lot of the forks are old and suck. (palemoon and junk)

I'm using floorp, it's good for me, for now.
Honestly Until I see more options change or something, I might stick to floorp.
>floorp?
It's basically firefox, with less of the new anti privacy, and better bug fixes.
