Shill me Artix Linux
systemd protest distro
I assume such distros have some really spicy internet drama as their origin
>>106496928No. Install void.
>>106496928
>>106496928It's literally just Arch without systemd, so either the best thing or the worst depending on who you ask. Personally I like it, you can still use the Arch repos as well as the AUR if you want. It's also one of the few distributions supporting XLibre as well. Also >>106496989 kek
>>106496928just install mint like a normal person, chud
>>106497091>Personally I like it,Have you run into any trouble? do you game? also what is that pic from lol
>>106496949why? shill me your BLM distro
>>106496928Cured my distro-hopping,
>>106497127I don't really play games, but I installed Steam once for testing and it worked just fine. The only problem I've encountered is the colord daemon not working properly under both Openrc and Dinit. I managed to fix it for Openrc by changing a line in the init script, but couldn't fix the Dinit one, since I'm not familiar with that init system.>what is that pic fromIdk it was posted in another Artix thread long ago
>>106497127>do you game?the few games I play run just fine with Proton>also what is that pic from lolhttps://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,5258.msg33596.html#msg33596the Artix forums>>106496928been using it for over a year now, literally just werks>>106497188same
>>106496928Just werks. Makes you realize how shit systemd is when it breaks. It's not shilled a lot because people stop caring about distros after they start using it.

the logo isnt as iconic as arch. looking at the arch wiki just impresses this sense of professionalism and officiality. when I was 14 I would go to the arch wiki and kind of admire it jealously, because it was too hard for me to "really" use. whatever an arch user was, I wanted to be that. whatever arch was about, I wanted to be about that. the logo and colorscheme and fonts and all that are pretty important in this impression and effects.
>>106496928I use a artix linux live usb distro to fix the grub uefi bootloader that was suddenly erased with the help of the smart gpt 5 option in microsoft copilot
>>106497134>small>fast >no bloat>no systemd>xbps is faster than pacman>not a fork of something else, written from scratch
>>106497483>whatever an arch user was, I wanted to be that. How did your transition go?
>>106497344is dinit easy for noobs?
>>106497685it is. the service manager syntax is very similar to systemd's too so if you're used to that you won't have much trouble getting used to it
>>106497692>it is. the service manager syntax is very similar to systemd's too so if you're used to that you won't have much trouble getting used to itokay, are you using someting like timeshift just in case anon?
come home
ive used artix for over a year and it just works, had 0 issues. runit is very fast and never hangs up. i think arch/artix is by far the best distro for daily use its very simple and convenient and you can find a package for literally anything on the aur
>>106496928systemd is good. Potterybarn and Bussy made it.
