genuinely the worst thing Europe ever did
>unironically defending Never The Same Color
jews be like migration is le good except when it comes to videos
>>106498408I was shocked and appalled when I realized my country was like alone in its choice of PAL (PAL-N).Fortunately most decent TVs and VCRs were also NTSC compatible so it wasn't that much of an issue. It took me years to realize the "tint" knob wasn't useless.>>106498424It was dogshit but released like 2 decades earlier before PAL.
Why did they change every TV station in the US to 59.94hz instead of coming up with a color system that works at 60?
>>106498408You do realise this was done because of the electric system and broadcasting system differences in the two regions, right? It wasn't a choice but a necessity unless they changed absolutely everything to conform with America.
NTSC: Amerifats definding 60Hz frequency, avoiding talking about voltage.
>>106498408analog tv broadcast system western europe eastern europenicam is very obscure system but they tell its real good for audio
>>106498986Brits only picked 50Hz electricity because they are contrarians who didn't like the Austrian who invented the modern electrical system.
>>106499001Voltage is 240 in the USA just split across two phases in residential zones. But it would be nice if there were more 240 sockets in US houses, especially in kitchens.
PAL is just a color encoding scheme that has nothing directly to do with 50 or 60Hz.
something about matching spinning turbines or some shit.
>>106498460>Why did they change every TV station in the US to 59.94hz instead of coming up with a color system that works at 60?the difficulty of using ancient frequency divider circuits coupled with the need to support a colour subcarrier. they needed to make it compatible with black and white tvs while reducing the amount of available lines to carry the colour info. that's the number they came up with that all tv circuits based on original ntsc standard could tolerate without shitting the bed. and they were stuck with it.
>>106498424colorspace wide
>>106499335theres electricity?
>>106499349would it be possible to mod it to 240hz in the US if you live innawoods?
>>106499371and 1.04x speed
>>106499534run eurogenerator at 7200rpm no idea what that is in murrica
>>106499534>>106499584oops i meant 240v
>>106499001I guess that's why they don't use electric kettles and instead heat up water in a microwave like subhumans lmao
>>106499654some are catching up and are using induction hotplates.
>>106499349And in first world countries you get 400 in three phases. Which makes it 240 for general use.
>>106499724add fifteen meter old cord and that is 175/squart2 V
>>106498408What's so bad about it genuinely?
>>106499806first seven lines are datalines whoever knows what goes on
>>106498408PAL VERSIONS OF GAMES LITERALLY MADE ME FUCKING RETARDED. OTHER COPING EUROFUCKS/AUSSIES WILL SAY "HuRr I NeVeR NoTiCeD HoW sLoW 50hZ iS", BUT THAT DOESN'T APPLY WHEN TRUSTING THE IN-GAME CLOCKS TEACHES YOU THAT A SECOND IS 20% LONGER THAN IT ACTUALLY IS. I CAN'T UNLEARN THIS, SO I ALWAYS FUCK UP COUNTING SECONDS MENTALLY. I'M RETARDED BECAUSE OF PAL CONVERSIONS. I AM RETARDED BECAUSE OF PAL CONVERSIONS.
>>106500055oh jeas game sim car goes 1200km/h
>>106499001This explains why electric kettles were never popular in the USA.
>>106498408PAL is better, it's 576i resolution instead of NTSC's 480i.Refresh rate only matters if you play games.
>>106500055>Sega is too retarded to optimize their games for PAL>hurr durr it's all PAL's fault
>>106500055>He is so retarded he thinks pal a color display standard has something to do with the European electrical system.Go back to >>>/v/
>>106500136Cood, now let me know when PAL60 became commonplace.
>>106499001lmao ameripoors microwave water
>>106499001poor amerilards haven't discovered brick buildings yet and their cardboard houses can't handle 230V on a single phase :(
>>106500144nothing stops you form having a PAL60 display or higher in Europe retard it has all to do because we standardized TV shows to 50hz/25p and STILL to this day we haven't moved form it (smart TVs are still sold with 50hz in 2025) because well it's good enough. That being said games form wii era up supported PAL60.
>>106500180>nothing stops you form having a PAL60 display or higher in EuropeI agree, but you didn't answer the question. When did PAL60 become commonplace?
>>106500180>buying a talmudvision in 2025
>>106500192>you didn't answer the question.because, you are asking the wrong question.
>>106500214>>buying a talmudvision in 2025Yes actually if they were bad they wouldn't sell them I was just looking online one day and figured out every tv sold has a 50Hz display.I bought myself a monitor instead, 100hz because that is the cheapest I could find.
>>106500232????The Mega Drive (which Sonic was on) couldn't output PAL60, so the question is completely the right one to ask. For the record, the Dreamcast was the first PAL console with support for 60Hz output.
>>106500243I wouldn't even accept one if you paid me, I don't need a spying device like that.no, I don't have a (((smartphone))) either
world would be better place if all had PAL, 220V/50HZ, right hand traffic and latin alphabet
>>106500401post pics of your ibm thinkpad! or is it a longsoon based computer that you have?
>>106500417and switched bs 1363
>>106500431>thinkpadI don't use laptops, they're inferior to desktop PCs in every possible way
>>106500417omg two talias
>>106499001This is wrong, good part of the south of Brazil is also 220v
>>106499387it cannot accelerate it must brake and thats noisy
Nothing wrong with PAL. Only retarded menchildren bitch about it because of muh video games.
>>106498408Dumb voltlet says what?>>106499349I love it when voltlets try this cope - they're too stupid to understand that it means we have 380/415/440 volts, and so embarrass themselves like this 'tard has.
>>106500055Hope your brain damage clears up, anon.
>>106498986Japan proves you wrong by running 60Hz televisions on the 50Hz half of their split grid without problems.
>>106498436>It took me years to realize the "tint" knob wasn't useless.hehin my case it was an OSD sliderwe didn't have any NTSC channels, but i was fascinated with the fact that if you tune in to certain frequencies of static, the "tint" setting would randomly appear for a split second. i knew it had to do with NTSC, because our previous TV without OSD had an LED indicator panel that would show whether you're watching SECAM, PAL or NTSC and i enjoyed trying to get the mysterious NTSC to light up. for a while, domestic channels would be in SECAM while foreign ones were PAL. the switchover to PAL was kinda cool to witness, not because i could tell the difference, but because the LED indicator could. yes, i was, and still am, somewhat of an aspie.
