What's to be done?
>>
I used XFCE years ago. Like 15 years ago.
When i used Gentoo and it was the best way to avoid compiling bloat and almost all applications i used were gtk already.

Now the only gtk application i have is firefox and that one isn't even using gtk for drawing its UI.
And gtk got turned into this utter abomination that is current GNOME.
And XFCE would have to maintain their own gtk fork if they want to have a future.
And even then, the applications you run on it would be either in modern globhomo gtk or qt, so it doesn't have a purpose.

tldr; xfce has no usecase, LXQt would be my current choice for avoiding bloat.

I have no idea what you're saying. Stop being a silly little cat and get back to catching mice!
