that video is really stupid though
wow you see a bunch of wifi signals have fun spending 10 years cracking one
>>
>>106502216
HOLY FUCK you mean you can just SEE BLUETOOTH devices like that? You don't need to click "scan Bluetooth" on your cellphone!!???
>>
>>106502383
>>106502387
it works on normies though so idk what to say.
even if OP posted this as a joke, he was still exposed to it and that implies virality.
>>
>>106502383
Was it wifi or Bluetooth thought he clicked scan Bluetooth
>>
I guess it's time to pump out some more propaganda over this nothingburger
>>
This is more useful: https://shop.hak5.org/products/wifi-pineapple-pager

You can drive or walk around and have it deauth wpa2 clients and capture their handshake as they reauthenticate and then use it to upload the handshakes to a server for offline cracking.

isnt it still not that hard to crack wifi if you capture handshakes and they have a weak password?
>>
>>106502434
im actually not very familiar with them at all so bit of a dunning kruger on my part. but when i did bother trying to get free wifi, it was not simple at all and im a linux geek for like 10 years.

they never do though, i dont even bother changing mine from the stock one
>>
>>106502383
Wardriving is meant for finding unsecured wifi networks or ones with unsecure protocols like WEP that can be easily cracked.
>>
>>106502570
yeah but shits rarer and rarer isnt it?
more likely to not find any. depends on the population density ofc
>>
what a waste of gas and life
>>
>>106502558
you can do it with your phone im pretty sure without needing an esp
>>
>>106502568
its the one thing i do put strong passwords on since you only have to enter it once per device. i do think the latest wifi security+a good pass are practically uncrackable

>>
>>106502881
you could probably do that kind of thing pretty easily with social engineering and breaking into the pole. that kind of stuff is extremely advanced and interesting.
but if you did that you could have a bunch of streetlights as part of your "botnet" and control the route for a getaway or whatever. someone write the movie script

i imagine in the future as people get more obsessed with tech and technology, there are more focused "guerilla technology" applications. like the amateur movie.
>>
I wonder how is wardriving in my neighborhood. Is it the guy with the smartwatch? The guy with the cellphone? Maybe the guy that just assembled a WA2000 in his car?

Who knows?

here it is, even has 3d printed parts, pistol grip and black tape for extra scare-factor. i pull out this bad boy and every woman/normie thinks im an 3lite h4ck3r

(i saw the antenna on aliexpress while looking for an antenna for my fpv drone so i ordered it and made this thing, cant hack anything but it can find wifi sources and my drone if i crash in the bushes (and ive lost drones before in dense bushes))

You're not likely to find much in very populated areas, but in rural ones, motels etc you could still find plenty.
>>106502613
Definitely not with an iphone. Maybe with a rooted android you can do some of the things, but even then 99.9% of phones nowadays don't have monitor mode support.

i thought he was just mapping the wifi/bluetooth by location or something. never tried to capture packets on a phone

the only time i used monitor mode is for drones someone made an FPV video system that used wifi as it's hardware with monitor mode to send the video without needing constant 'connection' just displaying any packets that arrive as the video (traditional wifi would be extremely unstable as an fpv system as it doesnt handle packet loss well )

>pineapple pager?
It's basically a portable WiFi router running Hak5's special sauce firmware. You could do everything it does with a normal laptop, it just has the advantage of being more convenient for lazy skids.
>hackrfone?
This one is actually useful, and it's not even that expensive for an SDR with such capabilities. You can use it to receive all kinds of signals that can then be decoded in software, and unlike the RTL-SDR, you can also use it to transmit signals.

these kinds of comments are pseud level because you dont provide any meaningful examples or explanations. i dont say that you have to but in this instance atleast the person that bought the device is DOING something

Mudda
>>
>>106502570
Virtually no one uses WEP anymore. ISPs (in first world countries at least) constantly give people new routers that have at least WPA2 as default.
>>
I remember leaching my neighbours for years in 2000s today you can only brute force or hope some commercial routers come with vulnerability. Hackerman is meme larp now, security has become crazy tight even on consumer level.
