Piracy is easier than ever, no need to torrent anything, you can stream all the content you need and if you really need to download shit there's clients for that or you can build a scraper yourself (I've done this a couple times for WNs). No need to risk breaking the law by seeding, the piracy websites take on all the risk and you only pay by ads (which you can block most of.)

Showa era variety shows, wiped out because there is no preservation culture in Japan, and if there is, it's purely boomers trading VHS tapes. In terms of service-level KYC then this is mostly bypassable as well with residential proxies, stolen IDs etc. and everyone who really wants to get around those will do that. I can confirm that youtube KYC can be bypassed with account made with US phone number, that you can buy for like 50 cents online.
