Does anyone seriously use namecheap anymore? They always claim the domain is taken and try to squeeze you for every last time with a "make offer" button. You can just type in random gibberish and it's "taken" every time.
>>106511799*every last dime
It's where most of my domains are registered. What do you recommend instead?
>>106511843Anything but that or GoDaddy, they will jack the prices sooner or later and hijack your domain if you're not careful, avoid cloudflare domains too, they don't let you set nameservers lmao.
>>106511799you sound retarded and brown LOL
>>106511843porkbun is where I am now after gandi died.
seems to be specific to certain tldsi get this with .im but not .com
>>106513875this and spaceship
>>106511799I use namesilo. Their gestion panel is trash but the prices are low and I've never had any issues with them during the years i've used them
>>106513875Gandi is Jewish. Jacked up their fees for my mail server without warning.
>>106511799>Go to domain name website>Pick a domain name you want to buy>The domain site purchases the doman name right from under you>Tells you the domain is taken but you can buy it for 100x the original price. It would only have to work 1% of the time to break even
>>106513914Some TLD's cannot be registered at 3rd party registrars.Especially the 2 letter ones belonging to a country. There might even be a policy where you have to be a resident of the country or at least have legitimate business there.Every country can make their own rules when it comes to their TLD.Don't know about .im though.
>>106516431You can see at what date a domain was first registered. So it should be easy to find out if they do this.
>>106516311I moved one of my domains to porkbun from gandi and registered it for 3 years and it still cost less than gandi's new rates for one year.
>>106511799Maybe I'm retarded. But I remember namecheap actually being good at some point(literally 10+ years ago). What happened...well I guess it's completely standard.
>>106511799>>106517175Don't use Namecheap. Ever. If you're using them right now, move all your domains off it right now before it's too late. If you piss them off for one reason or another, they will perma lock your account and throw all your domains out in a force transfer. I speak from experience, they emailed me that the content of my site was "against their terms of service", and that my account was "permanently banned" without explanation or a chance to appeal.
