Can someone tell me what this MicroATX variant is called? It measures 9.5 x 6.75, almost the exact height of Micro-ATX and width of Mini-ITX.This board is fron like 2009. I got it like 10 years ago, and remember reading this form factor was somewhat standard, being used by other companies, and having a name. But I cant remember. The manual for the board calls it "Flex/Micro ATX". But Flex ATX is 9" x 7.5" and can only fit up to 3 expansion slots.

Arguably the last place(5070 vs 9070) where AMD could maybe be worth discussing is gone due to 5070 price cuts. Why are they even still releasing desktop gpus at all if they're not even going to try a little bit to be competitive? Will youtube tech channels and reddit stop shilling radeon finally? Even /r/Nvidia every other post is just regurgitating GamersNexus and Hardware Unboxed seethe.

The jump from 566.36 > 572.16 introduced at least 100+ bugs and a lot of them still have not been fixed in the latest driver. It's not just PCIE5 because 40 series and 30 series cards also have issues. Will Daniel Owen revise his tier list by making the 9070 a d tier card and the 5070 an A tier?
>>106515630>Will Daniel Owen do something that pisses his AMD fanbase off? What do you think?
Thoughts on this build?I'm looking for a small form factor build, but also a strong one for productivity tasks. I mostly work in After Effects. I really like the aesthetics of the Terra which is where I started this build.Money is not really a factor since work pays for it, but that doesn't mean I should get a 5080 for the hell of it either.PCPP shows the cooler as incompatible but that's because it's only compatible with certain GPU limitations, which the 5060Ti is within.https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dCQpcx
>>106515650well you should get a 5080
>>106515630Not that it actually matters to me, but the 5070 is definitely a top tier card this generation. Significantly more powerful than the 5060 Ti for proportionally little extra money (~35-40% extra performance for 20% extra money), and significantly cheaper than the 5070 Ti for proportionally little less performance (~25-30% less performance for 35-40% less money). It's the sweet spot middle ground IMO.>muh 12GB RAMYou'll be out of raw raster performance by the time you run out of 12GB RAM at 1080p or 1440p.Of course, you should always grab the most expensive/best card your budget will allow!

I'm helping a friend pick out parts and it's extremely disconcerting that the website I usually get parts from is selling a RM850x for less than a RM750x. They don't sell used or refurbished parts, so I have no idea why this could be. The RM750x is out of stock, so should I just go with the RM850x? He'll be running a 5070, so he doesn't even need 850 watts, I just picked the next applicable Corsair PSU in the same range from the PSU tier list and found it's somehow ten euro cheaper. I've also been looking at the Seasonic Vertex GX 750, because I've always had good results one way or another with Seasonic myself. My last Seasonic was DoA and they replaced it very quickly.
>>106516562It's not that surprising; the retailer may be sourcing more 850W PSUs.Even in the US, it's often better to pay the $20 or so extra and buy an 850W PSU over a 750W (both 80+ Gold).

The techtubers never get that people don't buy on fps per dollar they buy on I have X dollars what GPU will that buy. Nvidia literally have a card available at every $50 - $100 price point, way more models than AMD.
I don’t know where you guys are located but here in Canada the cheapest 9070 xt sells for $930 while the cheapest 5070 ti sells for $1227.
>>106516624AMD GPU customers often regret their purchase so they need to validate and defend it online unlike nvidia users. They also have terminally autistic linux users on their side
>>106516663Outside of the US the 9070XT can be had for MSRP. In the US, their literal biggest market AMD are being greedy bastards.
>>106516661youtubers who dont emphasize nvidia software featureset and ignore things like frame gen when they make statements like "x gpu is best value" are evil for misleading consumers

>>106516717Last gen sure. Nvidia was the way to go. Now with the 9000 series they’ve become competitive again. Although it all depends on local markets. I’m not a fanboy but here in Canada buying a 5070 ti is going to cost you 30-35% more than a 9070 xt. Which goes for only slightly more than a 5070. It’s the much better deal here.
>>106516731Not really, architectural wise they just keep taking shortcuts which is why you get them to be complete dogshit outside of console ports AAA gaming.>8 years to get tensor core support so DLSS4 works well on a 2060 from 28 while it runs like dogshit on a 7900. >Infinity Cache over actual larger L2 Cache which nvidia provide>no vulkan support for fp8 >hardware accelerator stuck in hybrid fp6-fp8If you ever mess around outside of gaming you realize they are inferior products
Unless 9070XT returns to it's actual $599 price I don't see them selling anything when the $549 5070 Super 18GB drops. The 5070 is already the most popular card.

>>106519484Ultimately you can't fight entropy of the ambient room temps. We're already to the point that 3 and 4-slot coolers heavy enough to sag the mobo are the norm. I'd sooner use an AIO for the GPU than the CPU but I guess being so expensive and non-standard mount-wise compared to the two sockets of AMD/Intel makes manufacturing them difficult and no one wants to put down the extra BOM premium for one and it'd make installation and (re)sale more difficult.

>>106519747ironically, highend mobos have more pcie lane sharing issues than lowend and midrange boards because of forced usb4 adoptionanyway i'd recommend you find a b850 board that costs no more than $220 from either msi or gigabyte. the msi b850 tomahawk would be my recommendation but you can go cheaper like the gigabyte b850 eagle wifi6e and still have a pretty good board
>>106519762I thought so, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking somethingthanks
>>106519747You've got two options for motherboards.1: Dope out your feature requirements and cross-reference them against the spec sheets.2: Pay up for a board that covers all bases.#1 is the cheaper way to do it but takes time and effort. #2 is, naturally, more expensive. Most people end up buying "too much" motherboard, especially for pure gaming rigs, which is obviously wasteful but not the end of the world if you have some slack in the budget.
