Is Libreboot safe to use? When I read the lead dev's name was Leah, I instantly knew that it was a woman (male). I don't want binary blobs on my machine (coreboot), but I don't know if this new breed of devs are to be trusted. I have NOTHING against mentally ill people or trans individuals, I just don't know if I can trust them with my computer.(Why are they like this, anyway?)
>The claim that "Linux devs are trooning out" is inaccurate and relies on a transphobic slur ("trooning out") to spread misinformation. The phrase is used to disparage transgender people and, in this context, to invent a false link between trans identity and unrelated changes within the Linux community. why is AI lying about it? what is happening to society bros?
why do you keep making these threads?
>>106517277i am researching this topic having not used such software in many years. and these recent developments are surprising to me
>>106517183Ask it about these unrelated changes.
>>106517162who cares. if someone makes good software I don't give a fuck if they're trans, gay, communist, black, etc. as long as they make good software. people should be able to choose to live their lives however they want and judging them for that is stupid and narrow-minded.
>>106517162>I don't want binary blobs on my machine (coreboot)Coreboot is GPL, same as Libreboot. There is nothing proprietary in either project codebase. Both projects do offer optional microcode updates if you would like to add those on your own (which you should). Anything after C2D Intel will need additional blobs, but neither project distributes those, you have to pull them from your own BIOS. Libreboot is a distribution of Coreboot, and it offers pre-compiled ROMs, so overall it will be easier to work with if you're a noob, which it sounds like you are.
>>106518082the problem is that linux tranny devs are extremely pretentiustry opening a ticket on a github/discord of any open source software, youll see what i mean
>>106517162>billions must compile

>>106518082So, when are these troons going to make some good software?
>>106518082You say that, until they CoC the actually useful people for some imaginary problem then all of a sudden the project you rely on is utterly fucked
>>106518082sure but tranny open source devs are a parody unto themselves
>>106518082That's the question, dipshit. I care. Trans people tend to be severely mentally ill, they are activists, they have motives. A normal autist used to care purely about the software and making it good for the sake of it in spite of everything, conventions or anything else. There was a time in US history when they would always pass over gay people as spies because that was a lever that could be used against those spies, not just because it could be used to influence them directly through revealing it, etc., but because gays were known to be bitchy gossippers with loose lips, and the organizations cared far less about feelings and perceptions and far more about objective reality.Similarly, I don't know if I can trust something as important as my bootloader to a person whose very reality is a lie, and who is in so deep that they expect those around them to accept this lie even when it is quite clear that it is one (just a typical speccy male with medium length hair and the "Chud face," not passing).I do not say this to be offensive at all; I support, respect, and sometimes pity trans people. But the point I'm making is that there is more at play with their personality which may influence their motives and thus their underlying behavior, and in security-sensitive environments, this matters.
>>106519293>>106518082No disrespect intended, but when did people start acting like being trans is actually normal and not a totally contrived ideology spread by grooming? This once went without saying, and now it needs to be explained? Would you hire a cybersecurity expert identifies as a chicken? We've all seen the video.
>>106519306They were always around in one form or another, 1000 years ago they would have been a sexless monk transcribing books somewhere. They're more visible now because the kind of autism required for low level systems programming goes hand in hand with a diminished sense of gender identity and peer pressure, you end up becoming trans when all your stupid nerd friends become trans too.
>>106518417left one is going to give me nightmares
>>106519326I remember when my fellow spergs were crusaders for truth. We'd argue unpopular views because they were right and true. I'd have thought they would be the exact kind of people to point out that this is not a real physical phenomenon and is instead an ideology. Now those same people live in a world of delusion and try to foist it on others. I can't tell which ones do this knowingly and maliciously and which ones believe their own lies, and how much overlap there is between the two. I only know that I'm in the minority of people who are still willing to discuss this, at least in safe spaces.I think monks could be homosexuals but I doubt very much that many of them held the notion that they were born the wrong gender. Being a monk has been a respectable endeavor, too. You could argue that the autists of old were like modern monks. But this new breed is something else entirely.
