I'm tired of two-factor authentication being shoved into everything now, it's ridiculous. Why should I have to use my email to activate an account for a service that has nothing online, or at least shouldn't, and won't be using any of my personal information? Why should I use 2FA at all? It's clear they're just harvesting extra information to sell, since that's all everything does online. I tried looking up more information for evidence on this though, because whenever I bring this up I get almost exclusively redditors with their BUT POOFACTOR AUTHENTICATION IS GOOD FOR YOU YUM YUM YUM PBBBBT I LOVE POOPIE fucking idiots, fucking low IQ vermin. I would pray for the whole downfall of Earth just so that those wall-eyed sycophant cretins would die out but I know they're too moronic to even understand true misery and would likely be ignorant of it even happening. God I wish visiting Reddit gave you aggressive anal cancer. Please lord, Please Jesus Christ. I have never asked anything of you but this. Please fellow journeymen of /g/, pray as hard as possible with me for this to happen to them. Anyway, it's clear to me that shit like this will continue to trifle with the quality of the internet because of them eating it all up. You soon won't be able to get online without fully confirming your identity and signing off DNA rights to GayBlackLovers Corp.
>>106518625I ain't reading all that shit OP. But count yourself lucky for email 2FA. Theres a few online services I'm not even allowed to use because I don't have a cell phone to use for 2FA.
>>106518713why dont you have a phone?
>>106518713You don't need a phone for TOTP, desktop password managers like KeePassXC can generate the 6-digit 2FA codes for you.

extra layer of security. i use 2fa for everything i can. it's more inconvenient but not really that much of a bother.
Cheaper and easier to offload system security to the user than actually pay people with 2.5 braincells to secure servers from 36 year old exploits and not get socially engineered by the most obvious honeypots known to man
>>106518713I hope you never wanted to manage or access your financial services online! One of my credit cards did this to me, I spent 3 and a half hours on the phone before an agent finally relented and put in my home phone number manually.I fucking hate normalfags so much, each and every one of them should be drowned and held underwater for an additional 90 seconds after htey have stopped moving. It's the only way to fix what they've done to me and this world. They fall for the most obvious fucking scams and kowtowed to any garbage practice instantly They deserve it!
