New PCWhat should I choose?
>>106523547I hate AI and engagement threads so much
i use windows btw
>>106523547
>>106523547Windows unless you'd like to get hacked.
>>106523547Why not both?
>>106523547macOS
>>106523547Operating system or a kernel? Probably the first one
>>106523563nobody cares go be 1st post in some other thread you attention seeking faggot
>>106523734Linux exploits:>Usually discovered by a random autistic IT worker, and fixed in a day or two without any serious damageWindblows exploits:>Mostly discovered by black hats, sold in black markets, was probably a glowie backdoor and you had to wait until millions of computers got infected with ransomware so that mocroshit finally does something about it.
>>106523547That depends. What do you usually use your computer for?
>>106523831Both are shit then? Cool.
if you must use massgrave scripts just keep an eye on your gpu "idle" temps.
>>106523734jej
>>106523904basically this, also I believe OP is a faggot troll or a 12 year old
>>106523831>WindblowsYou are a super edgy 13-year-old, I see.>Windows exploitsI haven't seen one yet that affected the average user and didn't have to fulfill a fuckton of prerequisites to even happen.
>>106524007umm anons? why arent you guys posting "womm" and "skill issue" screenshots to refute the implications here?
>>106524340Those scripts are open source. No need to respond to a fool.
>>106524358only guilt or cope would illicit such a response. dude, we hear this specifically over on the linux side all the time and its never true there either. btw my isp blocked traffic to 62.102.148.189 from my laptop that has LITERALLY no other installed software on it. for no reason im assuming.
>>106524424You are possibly retarded?
>>106524440possible. is that relevant? idk dude. i cant prove it and im not going to try. all i can tell you for sure is my gpu should not be idling at 53 degees. its cold here and now, when im sure nothing fucky is going on its idling at 32.
>>106524471>is that relevant?Well, this question makes it apparent. Good luck to you, stranger. I hope you get many (You)s.
>>106523547Windows runs everything, and has WSL if you want to work in a linux environment. The hacker culture no longer exists around linux, so what's the appeal? It's like running a bad version of windows. If you really just want to tinker with something, mess around with BSD.
>>106524525what a strange exchange.
>>106523547>Windows 11 or Linux?Linux with a virtual Windows 10. Or a dual boot if you really need a real Windows. But fuck Windows 11, if you use it, you encourage Microsoft to go on with the enshitification.
>>106524550>It's like running a bad version of windowsbut less bad than Windows 10 and 11, so...
>>106524029Cope harder winjeet.
>>106524637Immediately resorted to name-calling and didn't even attempt to prove me wrong. Thanks for admitting I'm right, and you're wrong, I accept your concession. Filtered. Reply more, I'll never see it. I know you can't resist.
>>106523734>ai schizo babble on why only corporations should be allowed to do thingsand people just take everything at face value. it actually, unironically, is over.
>>106524665>0 actual arguments made>gets butthurted and "filter" you like a redditorOk saar have a nice day
>>106524471>monitoring temperature instead of power drawi will answer the question: yes you are retarded
>>106524665>Filtered. Reply more, I'll never see it.lol
>>106524602No, I run Windows11 Pro, I'd pick this setup over any other operating system out there. With a Linux desktop, I'd immediately run into issues running multiple monitors with different resolutions and scaling. Wayland isn't even the answer either, as software I require does not work with it. What realistically do I gain in the end? Given that I'm also throwing out lots of useful Windows only software.
>>106524711>Prolol
>>106523547There's definitely a learning curve to Linux, so the sooner you jump into it, the sooner you'll be comfortable. Windblows is just there and has a fuck ton of problems. My last machine on Windows decided to update (even though I manually turned off automatic updates) and bricked my SSD. Thankfully it was just a low end PC that I now use as my media server, but I'd be fucked if I had still been using it on other machines.
>>106524550>Muh 1337 h4xx0r cultureWhat the bro is yapping about? I am just a poorfag with an ancient computer that cannot run bloated shit. I just run mint xfce.
Too many mendacious lintroons in this thread. Just use windows, thank me later.
>>106523547Every time you are making a retarded question this like, ask yourself what your friends or parents would do. Normal people would just install windows and get on with their day. Quit overthinking unimportant shit.
>>106524602>freetard filtered by goysumer editionswindows 10 ltsc/server with defender uninstalled uses less ram than desktop linux with gnome or kde plasma and is better in every single way. stability too.>>106524716not a problem here.

>>106523547Do you have no life and enjoy problem solving with computers? If so pick Linux, if not Win 10 LTSC.There is very little use case for bothering with Win 11 at this time.
>>106524711>Wayland isn't even the answer either, as software I require does not work with it.At this point that's kind of like someone in 2003 saying they can't move from windows 9x because they need software that requires DOS.On the one hand, if it's true then it's true and no amount of arguing will change that.On the other hand, at some point you surely need accept that you need to find and migrate to software that does use new standards. What software?
Windows 10 LTSC/thread
>>106523921Kill yourself
>>106524665Poo in the loo pajeet
>>106524711Also keep in mind that even software that "doesn't work with Wayland" will still actually run just fine thanks to Xwayland. The only issue would be that those windows will look a bit blurry. Like running old non-DPI-aware programs on Windows.
>>106524572ohhh hes pretending my "its not true" is refering to it being open source. it didnt even occur to me that somebody might intentionally missinterpret that. thats so silly.
>>106525849>The only issue would be that those windows will look a bit blurry.Lol, and I should just put up with that.... because?
>>106526525You shouldn't, but you're also apparently insisting on using ancient broken software that can't scale properly.I'm using Fedora 42 KDE with one monitor at 125% scale and another at 100%. So far all the software I've tried to use scales perfectly. What software are you using that doesn't?
>>106525784>What software?Vivado (FPGA software). Unless something has changed within the past year, it only supports X11 on Linux. Now you're going to tell me "I don't need that", but that's ok, this isn't my first time interacting with freetards though.Again I'll ask the question, what am I gaining by switching to desktop hobby OS?
>>106526593>ancient broken softwareThere's the linux cult in action.
