the ABSOLUTE N WORD WITH HARD R of all subjects
i hate this shit so much. if this shit didnt exist i would have my dream job

ironically, if math didn't exist, your dream job wouldn't exist
unless your dream job is being part of a small tribe of hunter-gatherers and not needing to count higher than the number of deer in a herd
like agriculture, mathematics is a precursor of civilization
>>
>>106529160
My job is to join the army as an officer, but the shitty faggot government requires a written test with math questions. I've been filtered out twice because I couldn't meet the math cutoff
>>
Are you a person of color?
>>
>>106529133
More like the skill gate subject. If you can S-rank Math, you come out on the other side capable of doing anything at maximum efficacy. Whereas, not knowing math blocks you from doing a lot of shit or makes you do shit in retarded ways.
>>
Math is power. You just have less of it. You're like Yamcha and wanting everything to go back to pre-powerlevels. It's okay.
>>
>>106529197
why would the army want to give weapons to retards?
>>
>>106529133
Most of whats needed for undergrad majors is just a recipe. If you can't follow some basic rules, you probably can't handle upper class courses
>>
>>106529361
giving weapons to retards is the entire business model of the Army and Marine Corps
have you never met an infantryman?
>>
Absolute n word of a person. Maybe you just have a learning disability relating to mathematics. Unfortunate if true, you will be in my prayers.
Also failing to analyze:
>Id have my dream job if math wasnt difficult
>Therefore it isnt my dream job
>Also that job wouldnt exist without math

Homie, I'm going to help you out. You don't actually suck at math. Math is only "difficult" because it is a huge series of skills that depend upon and build upon one another. And if you miss acquiring one of those skills in the ~15 years of schooling, you're basically fucked.

Think of it like a Metroidvania. You have to pick up a bunch of tools and upgrades along the way to unlock more of the map that lets you pick up more tools and upgrades. If you miss anything along the way, later parts of the game become inaccessible or straight up kill you.

Didn't learn every single algebraic trick for manipulating equations in highschool? Well, fuck you. You're failing tests because you didn't understand 1 of the 20 steps needed in the solution.

All you need to do is look at a catalog of K through 12 math topics, figure out what pieces you are missing, and go fill them in (starting with the earliest). I can almost guarantee you it is some combination of Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Precalculus. Grab textbooks on these subjects and read them cover to cover while taking notes. That's what I did.

American public schools are to blame for this. Their incentives are perverse. They unironically let the retards weigh down everyone else. They pass kids into classes that they haven't even learned the prerequisites for.
>"Oops. We can't teach you Trig in Trig class because Tyrone doesn't know Geometry. So we have to spend 80% of the year reviewing Geometry until Tyrone gets it." (Instead of sending Tyrone to a lower grade or remedial class).
They had actual dumbasses in my high school Honors AP Calc class that didn't know Algebra 1. No Calculus was learned that semester.

>you need to know matherino to kill those brown children
you are the real retard
>>
>>106529459
Oh, and don't think just because you """passed""" Algebra in American public schools that it means you mastered Algebra. Those fucks will teach you 60% of Algebra and send you onto the next grade with an A+. And you can guarantee that some shit in the back half of an Algebra textbook is going to show up on a test to fuck you.

>Didn't make it to chapter 18 of your Algebra textbook and learn logarithms because Jamaal and co needed to learn basic arithmetic first???
>Don't know how to reverse exponentiation using the power rule since logs are the opposite of exponents???
>Well, FUCK YOU! Because this test depends on that knowledge lmao, you fucking retard.

Start with AOPS' prealgebra -> intro to algebra -> intermediate algebra.
There are 3 hard prerequisites to learn serious math:
1. Algebra. Use AOPS. Expensive. And the pirate sites only have bad scans.
2. Problem solving skills. Use Paul Zeitz's book. DMCA'd on zlib, probably still available on other pirate sites.
3. Proof writing skills. Use Hammack's Book of Proof. Free and good. Do all of the exercises. Do the grind.
All 3 are important, I want to say foundational. Sucking at them is the reason students keep complaining, "I understand the concept, I just can't solve the problems.".

Well, how else will he count how many brown children he killed so he can correct bonuses then?

The point at which math becomes hard is somewhere in differential geometry. It gets tedious long before.
If you don't like math because it's hard, you're retarded.
>>
>>106529518
Once the student gets to mathematical analysis, they'll construct the exp and log functions analytically. The lies your middle school teacher told you aren't worth worrying about. This especially applies to history.
>>
>>106531238
No they won't. They will learn a riemann integral or derivative definition and some taylor / mclaurin series.
>>
>>106531468
Is this student in Europe or America (outside top school)?
>>
>>106531479
Nobody solves functional equations in highschool because the general toolset requires quite advanced mathematics

you are a retard. i've taken a look at the """math""" you need to be in the army and it's shit a middle schooler should know like logarithms, basic trig and proportions (if i got the right test).
the ABSOLUTE N WORD WITH HARD R here is you.

C because 120 * 0.75 == 90?
>>
>>106531642
Nigger you can do it in your head. 90/3=30. 30*4=120.
>>

>90/3=30. 30*4=120.
I guess this is a more thorough method, thank you!

keep doing these little things until it becomes natural. I also suggest watching Derek Banas's videos where he teaches algebra I and II video, as well as his trigonometry video and precalculus video, where he does all of these in just one video respective of the topic. it's very fast paced, but if you watch it at 1.5 that should compensate at least a little for the time you'll be pausing them to inevitably ask GPT question to make things clearer. they're good resources, and giving yourself an education is now literally easier than ever.

Math would be absolutely fine if the notation wasn't so ass at higher levels.
Mathematicians have zero concern for practical use, and just circlejerk about using the fewest and most obscure symbols no matter how much it obfuscates the actual meaning.
>>
>>106529197
Unironically skill issue.
In a high stakes job full of logistics, you better have your fucking math down.

>>106531556
You should google your terms when you’re not sure. Functional equations are literally something that only shows up in high school math contests like the olympiads.
>>
>I'm stupid and I made a thread for it.
Let me guess... anglo-american, aren't you?

Just do Khan Academy.
>inb4 you're trying to learn something more advanced if your fundamentals were solid you wouldn't be struggling
