Big search engines like Google and Bing are well known to track searchers activity and sell that data to advertisers — which is why many of us don’t feel comfortable searching freely anymore. If you’re looking for more private alternatives, here are a few I’ve come across. I’d love to hear what others are using too! DuckDuckGo – Great for simple, untracked searches Startpage – Delivers Google results without the profiling Brave Search – Strong privacy with its own independent index MyAllSearch – Clean interface with a focus on user privacy Qwant – GDPR-compliant, with servers based in Europe Dogpile – A metasearch engine that pulls top results from Bing, Yandex, and morePlease share anymore Iv'e missed, I'm always curious to discover new ones.
>>106530074Run yacy with shallow crawls on interesting/old websites to find other similarly interesting websites.Thank me later.
>>106530074yandex, because the nu-iron curtai, for when u forget RT's url ;^)
brave search is my favourite but I use ecosia as well.
>>106532541Wasn't ecosia just bing?
>>106532606I think you're right. didn't use to be, they were solely independent
>>106530074https://marginalia-search.com/>Prioritizes non-commercial content>Tools for both search and discovery>No data shared with 3rd parties>complies with the GDPR>Custom index and crawler software>Simple technology, no AI>AGPL licenseCaveat: Not useful as a full-on DDG/Google/etc replacement. Useful for researching topics where you don't need cutting edge up to date info from Reddit and other epic platforms/metaverses.
I don't like google because of the toaster-sharted "people also ask" search suggestions that remind me of interacting with esl normies on DiscordYou don't like google because you've gaslit yourself into thinking that there's some way forward to privacy.
I use brave
>>106533257They team up recently with Qwant to make an independent European search index.
>>106530074The MyAllSearch shill is back again with his niggerlicious shit!>hosted behind cloudflare>forwards your queries to google CSE directly, not private>domain registrar is godaddy>hosted in the UK>embeds google anaLytics>embeds google adsNot to mention the engine is commonly set as a default search engine after installing malware!https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2396865/myallsearchhttps://bestsecuritysearch.com/myallsearch-remove-hijacker/https://superuser.com/questions/1119269/myallsearch-com-threat-hijack/1119276Avoid this glownigger shit!

I like dogpile.com, which is an old provider that combines search results from a number of different engines. There's also yandex for images which can be cool. I like nudevista for tube site video streaming hits. I'll check out your sites op. I don't care much if people are tracking me but I think if I ever did it would have had to be covered from like the time I was in high school, which it hasn't and that was about 20 years ago. As far as I'm concerned, there's no way I'm going to have genuine anonymity. Thanks for the optionsThis is kinda cool I think: https://static.semrush.com/blog/uploads/files/39/12/39121580a18160d3587274faed6323e2.pdf
You can self-host your own search engine with SearXNG.
>>106530074Leta. It's also fun to see a cached search from other users searching the same thing, when it happens.
