>>106530415Didn’t this happen last year? And what info, and email and password?
>paypiggies squealing in terrorlmaoooooo

>>106530415>Emails, usernames and hashed passwordsyawn wake me up when something important happens

>>106530415>wake up>see security breach email>change plex password>enjoy morning coffee
>paying for plexlmao
>>106530742copeeeee
>>106530415I changed my password and then my plex wont open my server. I did a few things that poeple said online and nothing is working nor can I find what I need. I was told to claim my server and when I looked for it, there's no place to past this code from plex. Where do I put it in if there's no place to put it?
>>106532457works on my machine
>>106532504good for you, I dunno what to do. I reinstalled my server and I can't get the claim token to work. There's no place to put it.
Jellychads don't have this problem
>hashed passwords (secure salt)literal nothingburger
>>106530415>plex makes you pay to access your self hosted library remotelyif you arent using emby or jellyfin you're retarded and deserve this
Imagine>paying to access your own files>paying to be part of a botnet>can't access your own files without connection to botnet>crying when their idiot proof system falls victim to another kike data harvesting rugpull>stays put everytimeWhat is the definition of the modern reddit tech cuccckI am sure your botnet server is on its own vlan with blocking firewall rules right?
this kills the PleXcuck
>>106533032That shit is 100x more complicated to set up. Not all of us are that overly tech-savvy. Most of us here likely only know how to set up a PC with some add-ons. I wish I were as smart as you guys.
>>106532739Go to your plex server web UI -> Settings -> General. Then click on claim this server.>>106533032>>106533061>>106533130Freetards once again. Free Plex with a local only account can do everything Jellyfin can. Plex pass adds additional features you Jellytards have been waiting on for years.Even the simple idea of sharing libraries between Jellyfin servers is inconceivable to Jellytards. I've seen a popular forum post about this feature from 2019. Not to mention every single Jellyfin client SUCKS.Even if I didn't have Plex pass, I would still use Plex for free over this abandonware.
I paid $70 for Plex years ago and it just werks. Do people actually care about paying 70 one time? I'm aware they raised the price. If they went subscription model I would learn the alternatives
>>106533261>paying for piracy>uncontrolled seething>data leaked everywherelol
>>106533215>Not all of us are that overly tech-savvy. Most of us here likely only know how to set up a PC with some add-ons.Isn't Jellyfin just an install wizard and you're done? What are you struggling with?
>>106533261By "sharing libraries between Jellyfin servers" do you mean one interface with files hosted in two locations, or files mirrored between two interfaces?
>>106533262I thought they scrapped the one-off payment? You're grandfathered in if I recall correctly, but no one new can take that offer.
>>106533329it’s there but it’s like 5 times the price lol
>>106533340Ouch.>remote streaming for all usersIsn't that the whole purpose of the software?>hardware transcodingPaying for the privilege of using FFMPEG with your GPU.>Downloads???Absolute insanity.
>>106533261>first guyThis isn't an option; it's literally not there. I've looked all over for it. Videos have shown me to just put the code in and it wasn't there. Then I did the hostname:32400/claim?token stuff and that didn't work and gave me a 404>>106533308When I looked into it was a lot more than just that; it was also basically needing me to set up a lot of little things to even get it to work. I heard it's way better, but so is an extension cord from my neighbor's house vs digging a tunnel and wiring directly into him.
>>106533215>That shit is 100x more complicated to set upit takes like, 30 seconds to configure a virtual server and network address translation, then maybe you need a policy allowing inbound from WANidk what your home router is but you can just google it>>106533261>Plex pass adds additional features you Jellytards have been waiting on for years.>Even the simple idea of sharing libraries between Jellyfin servers is inconceivable to Jellytards>inconceivable Its not "inconceivable" to me because i know what Server Message Block is>>106533262>I paid $70 for Plex years ago and it just werksI paid nothing for emby and it just werks
>>106533356stop seething freetard, plex is better becauze you have to pay for it
>>106533371>When I looked into it was a lot more than just thatPerhaps things have changed. That is the Windows install thoughalbeit, but I can't imagine the Linux one is really that complex if millions of Redditors can get it working. Was there a specific thing you were struggling with or did it just look like a lot of instructions you didn't want to deal with at the time?
>>106533372Anything that has me doing a port forward and so on wont work for me. I'm on the guest network. Im not allowed on the other side, I'll get yelled at if I touch it. I've been mostly working with indirect streaming.
>>106533394I don't completely remember but when I tried to get it to run, I had to pay for something. I'm paying for plex now and all my shit is broken thanks to this stupid bullshit. I was doing just fine till plex had to fuck us all up.
>>106533398>network. Im not allowed on the other side, I'll get yelled at if I touch it. move out of your parents’ basement
>>106533414>I had to pay for somethingIt's hard to say since you don't remember what happened, but it sounds like that might have been Tailscale.Tailscale is the Plex of Wireguard. Wireguard is free. You should be able to do a full Jellyfin set up with whatever bells and whistles you like for free (excluding ISP of course.)
>>106533261>every single Jellyfin client SUCKS.Infuse is fine and I'd rather simply pay $12 a year for that than deal with plex
>>106533398>I'm on the guest networkthis is hilariously worse than paying for plexhave you considered trying the router's default username/password? Its possible that they never changed it
>>106533261>remote streaming for all users, Hardware Transcoding, Downloads, Skip Intro & Credits etc locked behind CuxPass
>>106533261>Free Plex with a local only account can do everything Jellyfin can.>hardware gpu transcoding>hdr tonemapping>no telemetry to for profit corporations that leak everyone's data every six monthsPlease nigga don't embarrass yourself further
>>106533420If I had the money anon. sure. Plus, if you make the basement look nice and keep it clean, no reason you can't!>>106533432I do remember using this, however, the issue is that Jellyfin was annoying to setup. With my plex, I already hae everything organized the way I want, so I'm just not up to doing it again, but with everything I've seen lately, I may just try Jellyfin again. Honestly, I just dont wanna fool with tailscale cause that means setting up yet another thing. I just want my plex back.>>106533445Oh no, I cannot, that's not the issue. The issue is that I'm not allowed by my stepdad. Don't @me about that shit, cause I know I'm an adult and I could be out on my own but for the sake of arguments here, it ain't worth going into.
yoowhat happensif i only use it on my wifi networklocally
>>106533262they're all broke incel neets, anon. $70 might as well be a million dollars to them.they can't handle the idea that someone would willingly pay for a good service that helps them access their own files.
>>106533510>The issue is that I'm not allowed by my stepdadjust force your way into the router when he's not home, the default username and password, if not something stupid like admin:admin, will be on the underside of the router>inb4 he changed the passwordJust press the reset button then follow the same steps as aboveIf he didnt physically secure the router then thats his own retarded fault
Face it plex was good 10 years ago. it has since been coopted by greedy kikes who now have metadata of all your illegal pirating, sharing and packet analysis of your local network. They conveniently get "hacked" twice. Which is code for "we have chosen this corporation and its poor customers for data harvesting for the great benefit of Zion".MPAA and RIAA jews will come knocking on your door soon fellas.
Emby user here, would've used Jellyfin if their app was directly available from the Tizen store. With what Plex has done of the last couple of years I really don't understand why people still use it.
>>106530415>not using a throwaway email and secure, randomly generated password that isn't tied to any other account, for this exact kind of reason I thought this was a tech board. Why is everybody here so goddamn retarded?
>>106533686Anyone who pays real money for software that they self-host is a fucking fool.
>>106530415Based. I switched to Jellyfin months ago. Likewise, I switched to Linux before the Windows update bricking SSDs. The age of paypigs is over, the time of the freechad has come.
>>106533510>I do remember using this, however, the issue is that Jellyfin was annoying to setup. With my plex, I already hae everything organized the way I want, so I'm just not up to doing it again, but with everything I've seen lately, I may just try Jellyfin again. Honestly, I just dont wanna fool with tailscale cause that means setting up yet another thing. I just want my plex back.I honestly don't know what to tell you. Maybe Plex is actually the right choice for you. From this post and your other posts you seem so helpless that paying for the privilege to download your own files might actually be best in your specific case.Give Jellyfin a try though. Maybe you're better than you were back then.By the way, I am saying you should avoid Tailscale, not that you should use it.
>>106530415>change your password or notlol wat
>>106530415how watch this on Plex sir
>>106533304Keep coping Jellytard.>>106533372Your "solution" with SMB is a hack that can be done for free Plex, too. Again, they are both the same for free tier.>>106533436>Infuse is fineKys. That's a third party player that just happens to support Jellyfin. Also supports Plex btw.>>106533469>>106533496>DownloadsNobody uses that. And even then, yo already have the files on your server so just transfer them over. It's still one click.>Hardware TranscodingExtremely buggy and shit on Jellyfin. I'd rather pay than use this garbage. Also direct play is better for quality and supported by every device except your 2006 android.Keep coping Jellytards.>>106533323I mean streaming from not your, but someone else's Jellyfin server, with the same Jellyfin account. No, creating a separate account on your friend's Jellyfin server doesn't count. You can do that with free Plex too.
>>106537105Oh my god shut up retard
i find jelyfin to be very nice and better than plex but it took some adjusting>had to rename movies and tv shows strictly by how they are in The Movie Database. It kind of sucked because most of my stuff was still named with their torrent conventions and plex usually just worked>installed anidb plugin for anime, I find it easier than Plex and Hama and Absolute Series Scanner>android tv apps forces transcoding on ASS and PGS subtitles, this was the worst. Plex was able to direct play. I used kodi for a while but I eventual just converted my sub files>on the other hand, jellyfin lets me hardware transcode when it never worked for me on plex>best thing is no ads, no other streaming services or live tv being shoved in my face
PLEXSISSIES LOSTKODIGODS WON
>>106532504We know, I'm on your server too.
>>106530415Ohh no, my passmail email alias has been leaked as well as the hash of my randomly generated password that takes 2 clicks in my password manager to replace. 5 whole seconds of my time, wasted, just like that! These pesky hackers have got me.
>>106537105You mad ?
>>106537105Buggy for dumb plebbitors or turdy jeets. I guess you never have to transcode anything above 5gb shitstreet approved yify sdr encodes to watch on your cheap chink hd lcd. No need to cope when I can flawlessly watch 4k dv hdr remux files locally on kodi or jellyfin gpu transcoded on the go thru vpn tunnel. No hooknoses inserted. You along with 1000s of reddit faggots are coping rn with kikes freely taking your shekels and data. Open wide MPAA will come inside you now.
