Have any of you tried anything from M5stack, fellow /g/entooman? Haven't started a thread in some time. But I think I saw some m5sticks posted in a non related thread and was wondering if anyone tried or even know about this shit.Just got "Please wait a while before making a thread". So, while I wait: fuck you chink moot, I've waited a lot already.
>>106539460Their stuff looks really fucking interesting but has a surprisingly small presence in the west so far. It's made by Espressif, famous for the ESP32. I haven't used any of their stuff personally(i have too many unused arduinos and pi picos laying around). But I saw some cool projects on youtube, multiple of them from japan.
I have the yellow block with shitty battery still in the package.
>>106539792Was considering war "driving", more like walking through my neighborhood, collecting handshakes and breaking if they are 8 numbered chars.
>>106539460I've done ESP32 and I really have no idea why I'd choose m5stack. maybe for teaching.
>>106539741I work in industrial automation and they really have some interesting stuff. They make a PLC that want to try. A lot of factories use Siemens or Allan Bradley but a lot of the time it's overkill.
>>106539792Why didn't you use it yet?
>>106539741>made by EspressifHuh, didn't know, it's really recent though https://www.espressif.com/en/news/Espressif_Acquires_M5Stack>surprisingly small presence in the westI would say they are as well known as Seeed or Lilygo in the maker/tinkerer/hobbyist/diy field, maybe not as prominent as an Adafruit (especially in the US), but still. They regularly throw boards at that Eastern European dude for example https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCit2rVgOvhyuAD-VH5H_IHgI've been looking at some of their recent rotating knobs with a circular touchscreen in the middle for a potential project>>106539875If you're someone like me, a software dude who doesn't have a 3D printer who doesn't know how to design/fab custom PCBs, having a manufacturer with a real brand and some quality check delivering integrated "things" with the components you want (in a nice molded case, already soldered), is quite nice.Teaching is an option too yeah, but you may not be their target anyway
Same problem as arduino etc - really cool but no idea what I would ever do with one.
me just need ESPNOW driver for android
>>106540281Lack of interest. It's the same of the good old RaspiPie getting dust, which I also have (Orange Pi).
>>106540290how much do you get paid to shill this shovelware on forums?
I bought this one.I haven't figured out what to do with it.
>>106543856You can create captive portals for supermarkets and capture wifi passwords so you can always be torrenting while shopping without ever registering your account
>>106541886stfu, you're probably just a mindless consooomer who does norhing creative in his life
>>106539460if a keyboard is too small for me to touch type on, then it's not worth getting. the attractiveness of the portability is completely offset by the usability
