Worst of all worlds reddit cringe. The inferior picture quality of LCDs combined with bulk and form factor of CRTs.
The reason to still use CRT monitors in the current year is that they have incredible picture (only on higher end units tbf) and completely unmatched motion quality. Not even OLEDs come anywhere close to how clean and clear motion on CRTs is, it's one of these things everyone forgot we had, 95% of /g/ doesn't know that text in motion should be readable.

CRT design is a lost art. There is zero chance of them ever being manufactured again due to much greater cost and complexity, unlike other vintage things back in production, like vinyl records.

CRTs beat all other modern display technologies in many aspects: input latency, pixel response time, grayscale tracking, true multi-sync capability and colour accuracy / ease of calibration. In terms of an ideal, perfect monitor, a CRT is the closest of them all temporally.

Seems kind of gimmicky. Why not just go for a RetroTINK 5X or 4K and just use a quality display you already own?
>>
>>106551890
so a random 1280x1024 LCD from 15 years ago and a generic image scaler in a space-wasting 3D printed beige box? I will be surprised if they end up moving enough units of that to keep the company afloat.
>>
>>106552201
Wow, and watch that be there largest customer market.

You need at least a 22400x16800 display to integer AR-correct a miserly 640x350 VGA image. Get fucked.

2x Eizo owner here, never had anything else since the 90s.

It seems like a retrotink would be better if this is your thing. same idea and equally overpriced but you can plug it into a 240hz 65 inch 4K OLED instead of a 2007 Dell office monitor from goodwill.

Most of the monitors I have are Old Dell office monitors from Goodwill and they all have like eight or 10 milliseconds of input lag, or response time lag, or whatever you call it, I actually used to have an IBM G78 as part of my setup specifically to play games on for the response time alone but then I ended up getting some modern displays that don't have built-in input lag

Unless you need the connectivity (and there are always adapters and converters at a fraction of the price) then no.
