frutiger aero won.
>>106552647frutiger aero is so reddity2k is better
>>106552647Until we can convince corpos otherwise, flat won. (pro tip, stop making it a nostalgia thing.>>106552826fpbp, aero has some improvements but it's kind of tacky.
>>106552647it did not, objectively is the worst, memphis, y2k and flat are way superior when it comes to looks and (specially) performance
It's just aero you fruity nigger.
>>106552826I can barely tell the difference between the two, memphis design is clearly superior to both.
Y2K and the Memphis Design is cozy. Also when did we start saying Frutiger? I always thought of it just as Aero. To be honest, it wasn't my favourite. I thought it was generally too busy feeling and the performance could suffer on certain devices because of all the transparency and glass effects.
>>106552826Fpbp, supreme taste
>>106553943>Also when did we start saying Frutiger?tiktok zoomers invented that term
>>106553943I feel the same way, or at least felt the same way at the time, but I'll be the first to admit that I like going on nostalgia benders and currently I miss Frutiger Aero.
>>106552647for me, it's y2kfrutiger aero is not bad eitherflat is OK if you don't have enough resources (free software devs) minus the globohomo figuresmemphis is pure nigger
>>106552847>Until we can convince corpos otherwise, flat wonthe only reason is that it costs lessif you've ever coded a UI with various custom elements you know it's the easiest to hack together
Y2K hardware with flat design GUI but without the retarded artwork and vectorized for best scaling.
>>106552647Not the most exiting or soulful, but neumorphism with gradients and glass effects is likely to be the next big thing in UI design. It also works well with 2.5D or in 3D spaces for integrated AR use.Personally I like aero and wish that we could have a modern version of it, lots of glass, lots of light and updated skeumorphic elements. But that's not where things are going because that's too hopeful and nice to look at, so we are going to continue to get aesthetics that all the big names end up using because it seems like the professional thing of the time.
>>106555071I wasn't aware of neomorphism before, but it looks amazing.
>>106552847>it's kind of tackyI love its tackiness. However, I think the apex would be a fully dark version that was never entirely realized. Something like vista, without the light elements, or OSX's Quicktime.>>106555071Better than flat, definitely. Add some gloss elements to those sunk buttons, some reflections in the round bits, and it's not bad. Ultimately though, the design will be whatever is easier for indians to do.
>>106554942Yeah ik, but I've also dabbled in OpenGL which is why ik Liquid Glass is genius. Having some kind of UI framework based on shaders will be just as easy plus it's more efficient. You can use the same SVGs and colorize them with gradients and stuff.>>106555330True, honestly I'll take either. Aero looks better but Y2K has more sovl.
>>106555071>lol just add enough gradients, brah
>zoomniggas will never experience a 90's taco bellI weep!
>>106552647Where did this "frutiger" shit come from? Back then it was just called aero (or aqua for macfags).
>>106556462Aero was a Windows thing.Frutiger Aero is a name that zoomers came up with to refer to the glassy designs from that era in general.
>>106553943>>106556462zoomer cultural appropriation, its sad lol, but its thanks to millenials tho, who won't stfu about nostalgia
>>106552647Y2K is 1995-9/11/2001Frutiger is 2005-2012
>>106556523millennials started the whole "childhood nostalgia" thing. before that people were nostalgic for their teens or early adult years
>>106552647I’m so glad apple is bringing clear glass ui back. now if only we could bring back colorful translucent plastic devices

Windows 7, then>Dear god, these GPU effects are using up all my processing power... I'll just turn them off. They are a waste of battery and resources.Windows 7, now>OMG the glass looks so nice, so futuristic! I wish microsoft kept with this instead of changing their design yet again.Windows 11, now>Eww this new effect looks so corporate and anticonsumer! It's using all my battery and resources!Windows 11, in the future>OMG the frosted glass looks so nice, so futuristic! I wish microsoft kept with this instead of changing their design yet again.
>>106558213windows 11 looking marginally better than 10 is just about the only thing it has going for it right now. oh and I guess tabs in file explorer, that’s kinda nice.

Flat design isn't bad it just coincided with the worst era of tech so far.
>>106552647Apple almost brought it back and then you idiots ruined it.
>>106558953I wouldn't consider flat design but with transparency effect aero
if you have nostalgia for Apple products you're bottom of the barrel.
>>106558213 hereI'm brown and i have 950 TB of 'p on my hard drive
Will Windows 12 come around soon?
>>106554923frutiger aero never existed, or you are underage.
>>106559015Never owned an apple product but the Ipod ads back in the day were pretty cool

>>106558012'emmy
>>106554804Frutiger was the designer of the primary font used in Aero. A bit redundant but allows the overall design to be differentiated from the Windows UI called Aero.
