He has interesting guests, he asks them interesting questions, and he shuts up and lets them talk. His interview with Carmack is probably my favorite Carmack interview

I tried listening to some of this guy's interviews, and I kept thinking holy fucking shit who allowed him near a mic. His voice sounds weak, he speaks very slowly with huge sighs inserted at random parts of his sentences, and talks almost as much as his fucking guests while asking the most banal questions ever imaginable.
I have no idea how he became so popular. Now I personally don't care for Joe Rogan's show either, but I can say with confidence that Joe Rogan at least uses his voice a lot better than him.

He's not some super genius he's a podcast host. Nothing wrong with that. He does have a PhD electrical engineering so he's not a retard. It's better having someone be genuine and be wrong that be some insufferable midwit who thinks he is god. I watched his Tim Sweeney interview and it was clear he only knows little about computer graphics. I personally would want someone more knowledgeable to interview Sweeney because that would lead to more relevant questions and more specific answers. But that isn't what his podcast is about. It's mainly aimed at boomers and dudeweed dropouts, which again is fine. That doesn't make him a grifter. And of course people who don't have much interest in science or academic topics will think he is a genius because that is what they know. Same thing with people thinking musk is a super genius scientist. That doesn't mean he is fake, you just have to take him at what he is.
