Big search engines like Google and Bing are known to track what you search and share that info with advertisers, which is why a lot of people don’t feel totally free to search whatever they want anymore.

Here are a few I’ve come across. I’d love to hear what others are using too!

DuckDuckGo – Great for simple, untracked searches
Startpage – Delivers Google results without the profiling
Brave Search – Strong privacy with its own independent index
MyAllSearch – Clean interface with a focus on user privacy
Qwant – GDPR-compliant, with servers based in Europe
Yandex – Russian based search engine, has it's own crawler

I rotate between a few. No reason to only use one search engine. Also throw in some Searx instances, marginalia.nu, infotiger, and kagi and I think you got most of them. Bing and Yahoo as well.
>>
Those aren't really alternative search engines anon. Here's an alternative search engine. The guy runs it on a 32 core Ryzen in his laundry room.

>>
The other day I stumbled upon yep.com, but I have no clue how reliable it is, if it's using its own index

I like brave search. Decent results, has the discussions sections which are useful, the ai summaries are ok and list sources (and you can easily turn them off) and it has the ddg bangs too.
I don't like their browser though.

they all suck

The MyAllSearch shill is back again with his niggerlicious shit!

>hosted behind cloudflare
>forwards your queries to google CSE directly, not private
>domain registrar is godaddy
>hosted in the UK
>embeds google anaLytics
>embeds google ads

Not to mention the engine is commonly set as a default search engine after installing malware!

you might want to assess your threat model prior to using this
try not to search up shit that'll get them fedded
and avoid searching up shit that'll tie your identity with a instance or whatever

searx is also good but i don't have too much experience with it.
ps: there's a chance that it'll display a fucking dildo as a banner depending on the instance so tread carefully.

Stumbled across this, has a comprehensive list:

All search engines use the same shitty Google algorithm. Use AI instead.

What is seriously frustrating is that Google search could be godly if they removed all the malicious crap that runs in the background that is meant to make them more money from ads. Does anyone remember a few years ago when for a few hours search worked as intended and you could find what you were really searching for? It was amazing and tragic at the same time.

I’ve reviewed a few of the options listed, and the results are largely the same across the board. What I find frustrating, though, is the constant appearance of 'AI Suggestions.' I’d prefer to do my own searching without having snippets pushed at me. I get that this is the direction things are heading, but seriously—if I want an AI-generated summary, I’ll ask for one.

I can't be the only one fed up with that!!!

Here's a good list I found online:

AllTheInternet: Collects and presents results from Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask, focusing on a user-friendly interface.

Dogpile: Fetches results from Google, Yahoo, and other popular search engines, known for filtering duplicate results.

Gibiru: Markets itself as a private search engine that does not track its users’ search history.

Goofram: Simultaneously searches Google and Wolfram Alpha, providing results that merge search and computational answers.

Info.com: Aggregates results from top search engines and focuses on presenting highly relevant search results.

iZito: Features results from multiple international search engines and allows variations of filter and privacy options.

MetaCrawler: Combines results from search giants like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, highlighting the most relevant information.

Metager: A German-based meta-search engine that focuses on protecting user privacy and avoiding the filter bubble.

MyAllSearch: Provides quick access to the combined results of several search engines using a simple, clean interface.

Qwant: Promotes privacy and neutrality, not tracking users and not customizing search results based on past searches.

Searx: An open-source meta-search engine, where results are gathered from several other search engines but not stored.

StartPage: Based in the Netherlands, it serves uncensored results and protects user anonymity by not recording IP addresses or search history.

SwissCows: Focuses on family-friendly content filtering and data integrity, using semantic information recognition to improve the relevance of results.

Yippy: Known for clustering results into topics, providing an organized and detailed search experience.

ZapMeta: Aggregates information from worldwide databases, known for its visual presentation of the search results.

>cloudflare

Why does everyone rip on them? Lots of sites use them and it seems like a pretty damn good CDN.

Is there a search engine where I can 'hide' sites or domains.
I never want to see Jeets4Jeets ever again.

Is it that hard?
>>
>>106563837
Lots of engines have their own index. I find ai much less reliable.
>>
>>106563837
as crap as google search has become, youtube search has become 20x worse
>search for something
>three tangentially related videos
>5 sponsored recommendations that have nothing to do with the search
>three recommendations based on my watch history that have nothing to do with the search
>2 videos tangentially related to the previous tangential search results
>back to sponsored recommendations
>>
>>106563841
You are definitely not the only one. I can filter information quickly and don't want/need AI results, which are often poor summaries, sometimes flat-out wrong, and just slow down searches.

Source for this list? Much thx
