Why aren't there any?
>>
>>106556464
Because 4k is the new minimum resolution.
>>
>>106556464
The same reason you don't find diamond rings with cardboard bands.
>>
>>106556539
because cardboard isn't a material used for ring bands
but 1080p is a resolution used for monitors

your analogy doesn't work, as clever as you thought it might be

>Spend extra on a premium panel technology
>Cheap out on resolution
Why? A 1080p IPS panel of reasonable quality isn't even that much cheaper than 1440p
Also, I literally own a 1080p OLED "monitor" lmao, it's a wacom tablet but still a monitor technically.

Because it's much easier to hide color fringing on higher resolutions, on 1080p text would look like shit
>>
>>106556474
You can't distinguish 1080P and 4K from normal viewing distance.
>>
Capitalism
>>
>>106556771
Depends on the monitor size.
>>
>>106556625
>because cardboard isn't a material used for ring bands
Are you saying it can't be used or people just don't want to use it because it is cheap and undesirable? You so smart . . .
>>
because OLEDs are expensive enough to manufacture that it doesnt make sense to make a $500 1080p one
>>
OLED doesn't feel like a mature technology, despite people trying to convince me it is.

Didn't stop me from upgrading two of my TVs to OLED but the lack of luminescence in those pushed me to upgrade my third TV as a mini LED set instead of paying extra for something that, while good, was still missing something.

>>
>>106556464
There was an early 1080p OLED TV from LG
>>
>>106556464
they don't know how to make OLED subpixels that fucking big
the technology just doesn't exist
>>
>>106556839
1080p monitors exist, are sold, and were the standard for a good while
cardboard ring bands were none of those things

>>106557591
op never specified a physical size, just a resolution
>>
You may as well ask why they don't make oleds, HDR, other flashy tech in 1366x768 or 1280x1024.
>>
>>106556665
Fringing is noticeable even at 400dpi, OLED is trash for people who don't read.

Yes, brainiac, for the same reason there are no 1080 OLED monitors.
>>
>>106558354
because they're fragile?
>>
>>106556771
Are you just thinking of video games? It's literally more space for windows and stuff to be open as long as you aren't (((scaling))). If both the 1080p and 4k monitor are around 24-27" or so you can easily tell the difference by font and icon sizes.
As far as low-res OLED, there's the screens in the Deck OLED and Switch OLED, which I think are 1280x800 and 1280x720, respectively. Switch 2's screen is 1080p, so if they ever make an OLED variant that'll be at least one panel. Although it'll be stupidly small.
>>
>>106556771
t. has never glanced at a higher resolution than 1080p ever in his life
>>
>>106556464
different subpixel layout means 1080p would look like shit
>>

>>
>>106558294

>>
>>106558370
How are you having so much trouble with this. Not only is it simple, but it has already been explained. If you want to argue semantics because your mom said you were so clever, feel free. I will assume you being on the spectrum is the issue.
>>
>>106558642

Okie dokie, nugget.
>>
>>106556464
I dunno anon, I also refuse to upgrade to above 1080p, because all my media is in 1080p. I don't want to shell out extra hard drive space for 4k rips, because it's a complete fucking waste.

Really wish I could find a quality 1080p oled monitor.
>>
>>106558294
evergreen
can't wait for the contrarians inevitably start praising the cursed resolution eventually, I think we're getting closeto SOVL vibes about it
>>
>>106556464
To make a 1080p OLED, they need to cut a single large 4K display into 4. They don't make as much money cutting it into 4.
But hey, their loss. I'll stick with my 1080p TN panel.
>>
>>106557994
how come I don't notice it on my phone?
>>
>>106558797
i understand it, which is why i know it doesn't work
>>
>>106556464
Who'll but their high-resolution panels then?
>>
theres some weird sub-category of internet posters who just constantly come up with new thing to whine about, or set of features that HAS to exist for them alone

>1080p hasnt been relevant for a decade outside of niche cases like esport monitors because zowie cant figure out how to do backlight strobing with TN at 1440p
>oled monitors become mainstream when gpus are massively more performant than devices like ps4 before and upscalers exist meaning anyone with enough money to buy oled is more likely to look at 4k than anything else. You just upscale from 1080p with your oled monitor priced gpu.

its kinda like someone who looks at 28" 4k monitors are decides that doesnt aesthetically fit into their lives and they should be making 24" 4k instead because thats economical for the companies
>>
>>106563072
Make a 1440p 24" OLED then. Resolution doesn't matter to me, only size.
Slop scaling isn't good either.
>>
>>106556464

Economies of scale. The returns on a 1080p monitor would be way too low to justify making them in the first place. I would like 24in 4k monitors on my desk personally but there is no market for it.
>>
>>106556464
I can't even find <19" freaking FHD IPS monitor. where the fuck are good compact monitors on the market?

1024x768 was the best native resolution for old Windows, from 95 to 8.1. Anything less things get too big, anything more it gets too small or ugly scaled. Linux too was perfect on that too
1366x768 is that but widescreen
Also most of the best Windows games ever played at 1024x768 so it's the ideal resolution
>>
>>106556665
>on 1080p text would look like shit
Only with the shitty windows font rendering
>>
>>106556464
1080p oled is like 720p lcd
>>
>>106558412
not OP, I'm blind as fuck and I can't use my 32" 1080p monitor without making the fonts bigger...
