Literally.
Are you looking forward to it?

Actually, I am looking forward to it. Gonna stick with either Pop COSMIC or openSUSE.

I tried the current alpha and none of the games worked through proton, also you cannot alt-tab out of games you have to slide down to another workspace. Not good for gaming atm but yeah I like the interface it's snappy and pop is nice overall

I am on Zorin rn though

No. I don't care for flavor of the month distros, I'm over 30 so it's always Ubuntu for me. I don't need KDE or XFCE or any other desktop environments because I'm not a trooner but a white male.

I thought the same but Steam Snap is too isolated or secure or whatever, I couldn't join lobbies or play with my friend on Monster Hunter Rise. Switched to a distro with flatpak and it worked. But yeah if you don't game on Ubuntu it's probably the best distro

Use case?
>>
>>106557023
I also had some game-related bugs when I tried it back when Alpha 7 came out. I would move the cursor to a different monitor and the fullscreen game would follow lol
Hopefully it's been fixed. They were also working on fixing a issue that plagues every DE currently, where trying to shut down the system with the lid closed puts the system in some weird bricked state.

About time.

Not being able to alt-tab is horrible, actual dealbreaker for me.

Saving the Linux desktop.
>>
No, why would anyone switch from Plasma or Gnome?
>>
>>106557151
Because it's the best of both worlds.
It has the features people actually want (unlike Gnome) but it doesn't go over the top with the customization (like KDE).
It's also made by a company that sells laptops to end users, so they have an actual incentive to make a product a normal end user will enjoy using.

why is every post on this board like this now
>>
>>106557826

Because the original users of 4chan like me are old now.
>>
>>106557032
a 30 yo boomer or white man wouldn't use Gnome

despite using mint on my secondary machine, I really despise most foss software since its mostly done by obsessed commiepedotroons who love to shove their faggotry down people's throat. Pop!_OS and Cosmic are no exception here.

they literally tried the same fear-mongering tactics with cinnamon, and failed miserably.

The UX is terrible, so no.

wtf is this I thought they were going to have thumbnails in the filepicker, not copy GTK from before they added them. The file manager itself has them but they can't just add some buttons to that and turn it into a picker, they gotta make a whole other thing that doesn't have thumbnails

Pick one.

The COSMIC filepicker has had a grid view since the latest alpha at least.
