Is this the best CPU for the AM4 socket?
>>
>>106558174
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-5900X-24-Thread-Processor/dp/B08164VTWH?th=1
>>
>>106558174
overall its the 5700x
for pure gaming 5800x3d
>>
its the best gayming cpu for the am4 socket but thats not saying much. am5 7600x is just as fast if not faster.
>>
>>106558174
Yes, but nobody has it at a reasonable price anymore. For the same cost, you could get a new mobo, cpu, and ram at microcenter.
>>
am4 is officially a dead socket because ddr4 is discontinued by ram makers. sure you can buy used ram but once the memory is discontinued is sign of dead platform. like when ddr3 was dropped for ddr4.
>>
>>106558198
as somebody who upgraded from a 3900X, no, dual-CCD 12 core chips are the worst of all worlds, high inter-ccd latency combined with the bottom of the barrel binned defective cores that require more voltage than the 5950X. just say no. there is a reason they are cheap as fuck on amazon literally nobody wants them, u go single CCD 9800X3D or 9950X3D. when Zen6 comes out with 12 cores per CCD it'll be nice but until then fuck no.
>>
>>106558174
overall it is the 5900xt
for gaming it is the 5800x3d
>>
5950X is the best
>>
It's an upgrade over other gayman processors if you're too poor to switch to AM5, but that doesn't mean a lot.
>>
>>106558174
5950X nigga
>t. 5900X owner
>>
>>106558405
Nobody upgrades ram once a sufficient pair is installed
>>
>>106558405
I bought a new 2x32 DDR4 kit to get to 128GB just a few months ago. the exact same kit I bought when I upgraded to AM4 in 2021
>>
>>106558198
he asked the best not the worst retard
>>
>>106560386
Missing the point.
Discontinued = dead platform. AM3 died the moment DDR3 died.

>>106560554
Old retail stock sure but there are no DDR4 ramkits manufactured from this year.

>you have to consume new socket every year because you just have to
Don't care, still waiting for AM6
>>
>>106558174
For gaming technically yes but I would say 5700X3D is a better pick overall because it costs like half of 5800X3D but it's at worst like 10% worse depending on the game. Runs a lot cooler too.
>>
>>106565431
>5800X3D
>or
>5700X3D
both are out of production and getting scalped for 7800X3D tier prices you either get a 5800XT or a 5700X at this point or transmigrate to Zen 4/5.

I have this one and kinda regret not going with one with v-cache. it would also be cheaper. 5950x is good for VMs and shredding through C++ builds though.
>>
>>106566896
First gen vcache had too many drawbacks anyway
Only 8 cores and permalocked to sub 4.45ghz clockspeeds and high temps to boot
>>
I just bought two 5950X for the price I sold my 5800X3D. Thank you vtards for paying a premium on a 5% performance gain. What retards aren't playing at GPU bound resolutions in 2025 anyway
>>
>>106559349
They have more bandwidth than the 1 CCD CPUs tho
>>
>>106559731
I'd be curious about 5900XT has 16cores and newer
>>106559349
>bottom of the barrel
-30 all core playing any game no issues
>>
>>106567342
isn't the 5900XT just a 5950X with slightly lower clocks? they're both under 300 euros on amazon anyway so they'll both be good for the price. I paid my 5900X double that 4 years ago
>>
>>106558174
>cost as much as the whole am5 stack on 7500f
>still loses in the performance
what even the point of buying an x3d cpu for an upgrade, over changing the whole socket?
>>
>>106567304
what good is that when most games are able to utilize 8 cores and bleed into the second CCD resulting in micro-stutters all over the place? You have to use Lasso and lock the processes to one CCD and in turn it gets its ass handed to it by the 5700X3D, 5800X3D, and even the 5800X. The only thing its good at is heavily multithreaded workloads ie encoding, nothing else. It was by far the worse experience I ever had with AMD. There's a reason the X3D driver shoves game processes into the first CCD only and its for that exact reason.
>>
>>106568366
if you have a X570 MBO with RGB 4600MHz RAM you can probably justify staying on the platform longer than most. but yeah otherwise just sell the AM4 parts and migrate to the modern platform.

What are the best AM3 cpus?
>>
>>106559349
They are great value for anybody who is not a gaymer
>>
>>106570155
Gaming 5800x3d, 5700x3d, 5600x3d or you are going to game at 4k it doesnt matter what cpu you use
>>
>>106570155
None.
>>
>>106570155
phenom x6 1090t or fx-8370( last revision uses less power)
>>
>>106558174
5700X is cheaper and faster

>Is this the best CPU for the AM4 socket?
That is the one I have, and I am a really fantastic person.
So yes.
