So uh, how did none of the web applets win?Kind of surprised a w3c spec web applet doesn't exist?
>>106562590easy, google and apple hate applets and any code that cannot be easily squished and compressed by compilers you ever see how iphones score super high on browser speed, even compared to a desktop?the only way that happens is via under the table manipulation of browser source code. see, the reason why the internet feels so bloated has nothing to do with the size of the sites, but all the extra bullshit the browser is doing that isn't related. Both google and apple have made it their mission to shit on the HTML spec on computer based browsers, port the same shit to open source ones like firefox, meanwhile they have their mobile browsers run completely different code that is actually fast and smooth, thus making smartphones actually seem faster than they actually areits a very deep conspiracy but its literally the only explaination. you cannot use the internet on a 1st gen ipad in 2025 like you could in 2010 and its all arbitrary slowdowns meant to force people into upgradesand applets break their ability to control the internet in such a way. wouldn't make sense for desktop browsers to score lower in benchmarks but run independently verifiable code much much faster
