Torrent client discussion thread

qbit on laptop
libretorrent on phone
>>
when people talk about µtorrent they generally mean 2.2.1 or whatever the last good version was instead of whatever it became after the name was sold
>>
cant believe niggas still torrent in the big 2025 i used to back in the 2000s as a teenager with no job and money, but these days most media/games are pozzed or boring so theres no point in even downloading most things
>>
qbittorrent
everything else is snowflake except transmission is for retards
>>
I use Transmission and I'm quite happy with it.
>>106572471
There's always tons of old things to torrent. Nobody said I have to keep up with the times.

>This client is distributed by most seedbox companies and is multiplatform, so Winfags can finally use real FOSS quality
Said the linux tranny who can't figure out the most essential features in his hobby os that were already there in windows 98.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I used BitComet back in the day. And Vuze as well. And uTorrent (but that was probably before selling out). Whatever antivirus I had at the time even flagged Vuze as a thread, although I don't remember the details. I was so weird at the time, this was a decade ago to be fair, but I would just install whatever, everything worked well enough.

Also, aren't the BitConnect guys in prison or fugitives now? So much for the insane hype.

Tixati isn't trying to be the new uTorrent, it's trying to be the new WinMX you retarded animal.

rutorrent is the most faggy waggy piece of haggy hack hock shit front end ive ever had the displeasure of using for years. Next time considering using flood as the front end or simply moving completely to qbit, as while rtorrent works and i understand it inside out, i have realized it is in some sense a scheme by autists that it is "simple" "speedy" "performant", and qbit is actually pretty good in all those regards as well while bearing total QoL and "just works" faggotry for a faggot as myself, and yet, this faggot may just be the best faggot among them all!
>>
>>106572441
qbittorrent is the only one that allow me to max out my 8Gbps internet connection.
deluge and transmission hangs over 5Gbps just like hexchat when I use xdcc and the other clients don't exist in my book
>>
>>106572471
if you think media and games are the only thing to torrent, you're still stuck with your teenage mindset in the big 2025
>>
>>106572441
qBittorent just werks for windows, good old reliable and powerful. But lately I barely even torrent except for movies from QxR, I get music, books, and vidya from DDLs

I use Transmission, just wish it didn't take 90 years to get an update. Have to stay on 4.0.5 because 4.0.6 is banned on some private trackers. 4.1 won't be released for probably a year at this rate. I've used and like qBittorrent and Deluge is god-tier if you do a lot of torrent uploading/seeding. It's the fastest for that out of the bunch. qBittorrent is the fastest peering in my experience.
>>
Googled «open source torrent client» 10 years ago and have used Deluge ever since. It just works

I don't really know what happened, but after I uninstalled kde my qbittorrent UI somehow became one of the most soulful looking GUIs I've ever seen. Sometimes I just keep it up on a second monitor to appreciate it like a piece of art.

you can still download media from before 2000, you know? I'm sure you haven't watched every great film or listened to every classic album from before then.

1DM on my phone/tablet
