Instead of cooling the hot thing on the spot let's move the heat away and cool it with fans over there instead!

water cooling is fucking retarded
>>
>>106572618
It works though, and its nearly the same system that is attached to cars.
>>
>>106572618
>let's move the heat away
uh your just describing the act of cooling
>>
>>106572618
It's all about heat transfer. Water is much more efficient (4.2 times) at heat transfer than air. The major benefit is the silence because the way heat sinks are built. Watercooling does still get better performance, if you overclock, you won't see the difference in most use cases. You could also cool a system passively, aside from pumps, if you so desired.

This chonky boy beats any water cooler and is quieter as well
>>
>>106572618
>let's move the heat away
That's how all cooling solutions work.
>>
>>106572618
Justified. PC water cooling systems should be designed more like fridges or air conditioners with hot and cold sides. HVACfags can better explain.
>>
>>106572762
How is it silent, it has fans too just in a different place
>>
>>106572981
You can get those. They come under phase change cooling.
Water cooling is kinda like your car radiator.
>>
>>106572786
No it doesn't. People have checked.
It does the best of all the air coolers, and approaches some of the worst water water coolers, but the best and quietest cooler is a Chinese watercooler.
>>
>>106572786
Are noctua fans still available only in the pajeet palette?
>>
>>106572786
expensive ugly junk that doesn't even beat a peerless assassin in cooling
>>106573193
they've got some cheaper "last years' model" versions that are black and grey but only for 120mm I think
>>
>>106573009
Your fans don't have to spin as fast because it is more efficient at transferring the heat.
>>
>>106572786
what do those pipe-looking things do?
>>
>>106573672
they are sealed with a light vacuum and some water vapor. it does the phase change thing and transfers heat from the heat source to the radiator. they call em heat pipes.
>>
>>106572618
Agreed, what I don't get the most is - why to cover the hot spot with a bunch of metal and stuff? Just keep it open so the thing wont get heat soaked
>>
>>106572786
>2025
>air copers still exist
>>
>>106572786
do we REALLY need to pull up the benchmarks and make you look MORE retarded?
>>
>>106572618
>let's move the heat away
That's how cooling works you imbecile. You cannot magically make the computer generate less heat, ffs. What a stupid cunt!
>>
>>106574039
You can't pull up benchmarks that don't exist, prove me wrong
>>
>>106572981
>Likes silence and efficiency
>wanting refrigerants in your PC

Brother Refrigerants work great because they are moving heat loads of 36,000+ btus out of your house. The hiss of the phase change and size of the fans will be way louder than anything currently in use.

Minisplits are quietish but thats because the inverter fan is outside.

Theoretically it is possible, but HVAC techs are the most overpaid tradies there is. They arent going to vacuum down, charge and balance ANY pC for under $500 for just the labor.
>>
>>106572664
except engines actually get hot enough for it to matter. doing this for <100tdp cpus is retarded.
>>
>>106572786
>blocks literally everything on your mobo
yeah i got tired of the nh-d15 just being obnoxiously big
>>
>>106574627
but anon what if im decompressing my 7000gbs of skyrim porn on my 9950x3d
>>
>>106572786
wrong and cope
>>
>>106575971
then you direct die cool with liquid metal. Don't tell me your a IHS pleb anon...
>>
>>106572618
Allows you to contain the heat and direct it elsewhere leaving the inside of the case relatively cool since barely any heated air is being dumped into it. Think of it like bottling your farts then releasing them outside rather than just sharting inside your room with a fan blowing out of a window.

Another efficient way would be using airflow ducting but since there're an infinite amount of pc configurations and cases all with different shaped components in different areas, it's not a viable solution.
