Do e-sims mean the police can always spy on us, as long as the phone is turned on?
>>
They can do that without esims
>>
>>106572977
they can technically do that already even without sim cards, although its not that easy. Some phones try to connect to cellular networks on boot time, so even if you do not call 911, your phone might be connected for a while. If you have a smartphone, it will broadcast its MAC and some other data as long as its wifi capabilities are turned on, which can be used to track you down. And this is all without even mentioning the apps. If you want to meet someone privately, just leave your phone in your place, but DO NOT turn it off.
>>
>>106572977
No, those are "cellular modems".

> but DO NOT turn it off
why?
>>
>>106573198
turning your phone off while at home might look like strange behaviour if people are looking at your phones behaviour. leaving your phone on while you go out to do something secret just looks like you were at home and not using your phone.
>>
>>106573214
Thanks. Will not be turning off my phone from now on
>>
>>106573198
most people (it probably applies to (you) as well) have their phones enabled all the time. If you suddenly turn your smartphone off, it will certainly notify the law enforcement that you are up to something shady, because why would you turn it off otherwise? It doesn't mean that you cant turn it off, you should just watch out for your pattern on how often do you turn those things on and off, as every irregularity will most likely by noticed by them. By leaving it turned on at home, they will most likely think that you are at home, doing your things, unless again, you happen to turn your device on and off regularly for some reason.

They could already do it without eSIMs. The thing is, they need a warrant in order for anything they collect to stick in court unless they consider you a "terrorist," in which case FISA applies and you have zero due process rights and basically they can lock you up and take a shit in your mouth without a day in court.

israel tracked hamas leaders using their phone in a foreign country
they dont need esim or any normie tech for that

Is there any evidence that phones can be turned off?

They surely can be left alone, I have definite proof of that

leave it on near a turned-on TV.
then it appears you’re just at home watching TV if they pull telemetry

they caught a murdered because they got timestamps of when his phone plugged and unplugged from the charger
>>

Go back to TikTok/Instagram with your stupid questions. Of course they can spy on you they’ve been doing it on regular sims for the last +20 years
>>
Phones still talk to cell towers without Sims. You can call 911 on a disabled phone
>>
>>106573049
>. Some phones try to connect to cellular networks on boot time
they can't if it's on airport mode when powered off.
> DO NOT turn it off.
shit advice, officer. try harder.
>>
>>106574807
it's much worse than you think, and what many fucking useless faggots on this board don't know is that your phone without a sim can be traced anywhere in the world due to ancient telco equipment in use by telcos all around the world called Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) '. all kinds of glowniggers and even organized crime figures with enough cash can get illegal access to the network. every sms, call, location, phone/sim identifiers can be collected in an instant. the global telecommunications system really is that compromised.
>>
>>106575103
>They can't if it's on airplane mode when powered off.
How do you know this for certain? I think you're making assumptions here, the only way to make sure your phone can't be remotely traced is if you place it in a Faraday cage.
>>
>>106575180
no assumptions at all. it would defeat the entire purpose of device security and then you'd be able to trace any phone anywhere if it made one handshake to the nearest tower. thankfully most people making these devices aren't fucking retarded and airport mode is obeyed by the mobile chipsets until told otherwise.
>the only way to make sure your phone can't be remotely traced is if you place it in a Faraday cage
it's too late by then. if you're a target they've already got your sim imsi, imei etc. they just wait until you reconnect to the network. and if you get another phone, new identifiers and you keep calling the same numbers they can trace that back to you as well using very expensive software to match callers and users. the only solution is to never use them at all - ever - for anything. people have no idea how fucked the mobile networks are. these telcos tell a wild story about security but their encryption algos are busted (i mean.. deliberately weakened by security agencies such as the nsa) and SS7 network is continuously exploited.
>>
>>106572977
They can spy on you whenever your battery is connected to your phone, so better get a fairphone to be able to pull the battery whenever you feel like fapping to furry corn without vids of your weird coom-face getting leaked on sites like this.
>>
>>106573931
it will die eventually, even if there is something underlying eating into the li-ion buffer
>>
>>106572977
I mean technically SIM cards are incredibly small microprocessors so it is possible.
>>
>>106575489
phone manufacturers wanting to cut costs of making devices, esim was seen a good solution, but it also isn't very secure have been exploited ever since they were introduced. turns out that esim is far less secure than regular sim cards.
>>
>>106575558
I'm so fucking tired of (((capitalism))) in tech
>>
>>106575103
>they can't if it's on airport mode when powered off.
This can technically happen even on smartphones, due to software bugs or just poor implementation, or if you try reaching emergency services.
>shit advice, officer. try harder.
What makes you think its a bad advice, schizo?
>>
On the iPhone there’s an option to keep Find My enabled even if you turn the phone off.

I only have a sim card for 2FA and auth purposes, every call I do is VoIP and I don't need data since I have wifi everywhere I go, my phone is on airplane mode pretty much all the time
>>
>>106573214
I actually always turn off my phone when I don't want to be bothered, which is most of the time. Am I a psycho?
>>
>>106579210
Unironically yes. That is such stupid and irrational behavior that who knows what other stupid, irrational and potentially dangerous things your psycho mind will unpredictably come up with? You're dangerous
