If you actually want to prove to red teams that you're not just a script kiddie using Metasploit, then yes.

>>106579660
>course based around being a metasploit skid proves you're not a metasploit skid

Metasploit PRO, you midwit. You can't use the paid, commercial version.
>>
>>106579647
if your employer pays for it yeah sure
>>
>>106579647

don't support the job gate keeper cert mafia
>>
>>106580019

which jobs would let me take this test? I work in help desk lol
>>

If you can't figure that out by yourself you're going to have a bad time with the OSCP.
>>
>>106579647
It was worth it a decade ago. Not anymore.
>>
I passed the OSCP a few months ago. It was tuff, but I learned a lot.

Pr tip: spend a shit ton of time on enumeration and do it slow. Enumerate hard and exploit easily.

I have course material of someone wants.

Offsec is a predatory business and their material/exam is complete garbage, however they retain brand recognition and all the clueless HR drones will filter for it.
Compared to stuff like CPTS/CAPE from HTB (which cost way less) the material is unintuitive, obtuse and full of errata or outdated rabbit holes.
Just have your employer pay for it like the others said, take the exam while some pajeet proctors you for AI usage (lmao) and move on.
I wholeheartedly wish to see Offsec burn to the ground while I'm still in the business and hopefully more and more companies, especially when not staffed by boomers, are catching on to how much of a thirdie/ex-military dad with 3 kids bait the certificate is.

Is the CPTS close to good enough, like you need to practice a lot more, in order to collect bounties and make a thousand dollars to 2 grand a month?
>>
>>106581768
Well CPTS is the HTB OSCP equivalent, so it's more like pentesting basics, rather than hard focusing on bounties.
Lately, I've seen hiring processes where actual engineers have a say give this cert some recognition, although it's nowhere near as universally recognized ofc.
You can try going for it if self funded since it's a quarter of the cost. The upside is that OSCP will be cakewalk afterwards (unless they have retarded shit in as usual, like password guessing lmao)

I've done some of the Hack the Box Academy before, and I thought it was great. I wonder if the Bug Bounty course they have would be good enough to make some decent supplemental income.

get some entry level cybersec certs like sec/net+ and try to worm your way into a low-tier cybersec analyst role (if your workplace even has such a role) and work that for a year or two
