I drop my phone enough to use a case since I have some nerve damage in my hand but I think normal people who don't abuse their phone shouldn't need one. Also if you have any name brand phone from the past 6 years you definitely should not need a screen protector unless you keep your phone and keys in the same pocket for some reason.
