That's just how it is.
There are other advantages on using windows or linux, some that might even lead you to choose to take a performance hit, but if you want to "as fast as my video card can", these are the basic rules of nature.
Ideally, you should weight the annoyances of linux and annoyances of Windows, and see which OS is less annoying for you, then pick your videocard based on that.
Also OSX is never worth it, it has most annoyances of linux and Windows on it, and several apple exclusive annoyances.
For example, explorer and thunar are both much better than finder, and while the linux file picker is bad, it is not as nearly as bad as the OSX one.

From about 2020 until the release of the 9070/9070xt, AMD was completely uncompetitive due to the lack of anything comparable to DLSS. Fortunately FSR4 is close enough to put up serious competition again.

Have you actually used DLSS? I don't even mean frame gen, just basic DLSS upscaling in quality mode. Looks great, its antialiasing is better than any other (feasible) method, and free performance boost too.

(Not sure what the state of FS4 on Linux is. It seems to work with Optiscaler from what I can see.)
