Yes, we are Unemployed. No, that does not mean we are Unemployable. Let's change the Unemployable to the Unemployed in Unemployed Tech Workers General. We need to acquire a second career to reboot our first career. Tech work for the sake of Tech working, just to get money, iwas always boring and now is just a dead-end. We were smart enough to make computers do things so we stopped at that, and the jeets caught up by impostoring. So let us continue to do smart things that pay well once again, which the jeets cannot impostor so easily. What's next UTWG?
I am going to study and switch to another Engineering field. I won't be coming back to IT for less than $200k. FTW. Eat a dick jeets: I won't be around to do your jobs for you anymore. And NO you cannot close the ticket until you actually resolve the ticket.

Okay yeah so you're going to want an omni 802.11ax light weight access point every 50 feet (they go in the ceiling) alternating channels 1>6>11, a LAN controller running CAPWAP to detect rouge APs, an IPS device to detect other hackers, and setup RADIUS configured for the networks subnets. Oh and wpa3 obviously.

>>106585177Instead of up in the ceiling, what access point would you recommend for outdoor use. Every 50 feet is too frequent for this application. What should I use for outdoor stuff?
>>106585207>access point for outdoor usewhen i was on ye botes we had wifi installed outside and it was just a normal AP in a waterproof case. companies that sell cable management shit sell whats essentially a Pelican Case(tm) without a handle

I'm almost pretending to be a jeet and asking for just 3$ /hr, Yes I'm that desperate. Every single penny is currently being funneled to support my father and I'm eating half a ramen per meal for the last month since there's no cash anymore, all my savings are gone.

>>106600655>My current location is shit for jobs, what's it like moving and applying for cities when you don't live there yet? How much leeway do they give you to find a place and move your shit there before you start work?I've applied, gotten jobs and moved to: hong kong, denver, seattle throughout my career. For the first one I flew there with a few suitcases. Landed and went into work. For denver, I leased an apartment via video call, rented a minivan 1 way from Ohio. Moved in and went to work.Did a similar 1 way minivan for seattle, but I did a boots on the ground visit to apartment hunt before moving. As you can see, I only ever had a minivan or less of "shit" to move so it was easy to just get on the highway with a rental and get there within a week. The larger the company, the less urgent the start date will be. I've been able to get a start date 2-3 months out with a huge company (10,000+ employees). A startup will be hiring for more urgent need. I'd recommend just getting a good job, liquidating or giving away most of your stuff and starting as simply as possible in the new city.

>>106607344>>106607769>Zero social skills>no idea how to sell self>makes people uncomfortableSounds like me, except I don't have a doctorate or advisor, or any sort of published papers.
>>106607769 (me)Not to mention my first papers will not likely get much attention anyway. Even if you look at big names, their initial publications are rarely that interesting or even that closely related to what they became known for later.

Even if you look at big names, their initial publications are rarely that interesting or even that closely related to what they became known for later.sure. I was just wondering if it was an outlier like 0 or something. my brother is sitting at 7 in his final year in genetics/genomics
>>106607805I'm jealous. I have not even gotten that far. I feel the worst part is not even getting rejections in a timely manner. It does feel bad getting rejected from positions with "junior" in the title...not even getting a shot at an interview. What the hell were they looking for if they're explicitly asking for 0-2 years experience but don't interview me.
Just finished intro to networking. Just relational databases and web dev next. Then 8 more classes on study.com then just 17 classes for my degree.
>>106607805The job that was by far the most tailored to my experience is the only job so far linkedin told me someone looked at my profile and downloaded my resume. That was 5 days ago. The listing is no longer accepting applicants :'(>>106608105I wish they would just have an automated system where the reviewer would click a rejection button and you get a sorry email. I want to know that it's over why is that too much to ask? That being said my previous job was the first job I applied to and they didn't acknowledge me for 3 months before offering an interview
>>106608312>That being said my previous job was the first job I applied to and they didn't acknowledge me for 3 months before offering an interviewjesus. here I am getting antsy since I started applying ~3 weeks ago and the most I got was an IBM OA which I think they send EVERYONE anyways.
>>106608105>It does feel bad getting rejected from positions with "junior" in the titleI imagine the junior positions are the most sought after, at least by qualified candidates. Senior positions probably also receive a lot of applications but also from people far from senior.
>>106608332certainly. I think I should start applying to startups and hope they don't go tits up before 2 years so at least I can get 2 years experience and have more opportunity to apply to more experienced roles (SWE II).
>>106608324And it took another 3 months before they followed up on the interview...it's rough. Found out later (don't know why my manager told me) that it took so long after the interview because the guy they wanted to go with ended up turning them down for another job. But still don't know why that would have taken so long. Confident my career would be in a much worse direction if I didn't get the job, it was getting humiliating applying to the later jobs to be some mindless drone. Then even worse getting rejecting by them too.
