Mint after a few boots
>>

What does Mint even do that's unique or special? Isn't it just basically just Ubuntu/Debian with Cinnamon?

>What does Mint even do that's unique or special
Lie about being user-friendly and modern
>>
>>106585740
What am I supposed to look at here? Am i supposed to be outraged?
>>
>>106585751
it's got all the advantages of Ubuntu/Debian without any of the corpo bullshit like Snap. team is only 11 developers and doesn't have any of that corporate shilling that jewbuntu has.

cinnamon is bloated javascript UI bullshit, but XFCE has always been the goated DE anyway.

I put Mint 22.04 on my grandparent's laptop because win 11 that was bundled with it was slow as fuck. 3 years later it's chugging along nicely still. Near 100% uptime and 0 crashes.
>>
>>106585778
yes especially when linux mint is the first thing promoted to noobs that want to switch from resource-hogging windows and/or briging new life to old hardware with microscopic storage
>>
>>106585740
fake as fuck
my Mint install after 7 years is just 90GB with software from flatpak included
>>
>>106585683
It's not what i use, but i can see myself using it and being satisfied.
>>
How's Mint now compared to Bazzite for gaming?
>>
>>106586485
less likely to shit itself

Update kernel to like 6.14 and ur golden
>>

Install antivirus that support Mint and that support protection against malware or other bad sites on GNU/Linux for your grandparent. Also you can install Adguard extension and enable protection against phishing or other bad sites in it.
I was installed antivirus on my mother's very old notebook(Core 2 Celeron with 3Gb RAM) with Mint 21.3 and also set up Adguard extension to block phishing sites.
>>
>>106586217
How much RAM have this laptop? What processor it have?
>>
>>106586485
Bazzite is for troons so Mint is immediately better.
>>
>>106585740
How many snapshots are you keeping?
>>
>>106585751
Lower overhead. It's better if you have older hardware.
