Hex editors are pretty useful to "peek" on the contents of binary files.
Even if you won't go full autismo and decode the header and all that, it's pretty useful to look at the file and see if there's something that "looks like the data you want".

Entire entry and mid-level spreadsheet jobs can be automated. I did it before the advent of AI with procedural code alone, but there should be even more possibilities now.

And I don't mean companies automating away spreadsheet jobs. I mean (You) getting a spreadsheet job, then automating it to where you don't have to do anything except collect a salary. You could get multiple jobs and automate them to make a bunch of money. Or just do one so that you can live while essentially not having to work. I did this and it was incredible for quality-of-life.

You might think companies are already doing this, but the vast majority of companies don't have the technical personnel to automate jobs with scripts, let alone AI. There are still a ton of spreadsheet jobs out there because 99% of companies aren't FAGMAN tier.

Wifi networks are like a screaming frogs, and the phones or notebooks wifi receivers are like ears, if your phone or notebook is too close to your router it can become deaf, if that happens this means you can't be far away from wifi networks anymore because it can't listen if its not close, so don't get too much close to them, also, you can know if you're too close by the "dbm", it must be -40 or -80, it can't go down like -5, 0 or 30(becomes deaf in some minutes).

One of the ways of thinking that Steve Jobs said was what made his direction of Apple successful was this:
Pick 2-3 or even just 1 thing to get done today. Everything else during that day is lower priority than the one thing. Make it the one thing that absolutely HAS to be done today, and deprioritise everything else that would distract you from getting that done.
I think the time frame can change, and I don't think it's truly the key to doing everything. I also think that Jobs was a hack who wasn't technical at all and was a cunt to his employees and basically everyone in his life, but his impact on the tech world is unfortunately, undeniable.
What I do think, is that this is a good motivational thought experiment that could be used to stop procrastinating and actually get the things you've got in your head into reality.
Also fuck apple and their overpriced trash.

admittedly I have only read his other one but I trust the guy, his other book is amazing and I took a brief look at this one and it looked good too:
Algebra: Notes From The Underground, Paolo Aluffi

If it feels too verbose and wordy then check out his grad-level one, that one is amazing but presumes more familiarity with pure math and proofs:
Algebra: Chapter 0, Paolo Aluffi

It's really easy to calculate percentages if you think of 1.00 as being 100% and only ever use multiplication. 27% of 100 is 0.27*100. Likewise you can increase numbers by a percent by just going over 1.00. to increase 100 by 5% you'd do 1.05*100.

Sleep goes in cycles of 1-1.5 hours, in the middle of which your brain is rinsing itself out with spinal fluid. If you wake up outside of a cycle you'll feel refreshes. Either way I guess the result is the same: I end up lying very little day to day.

>Piracy is not a crime, it's a tool. Don't yap about it, keep your head low - and the entirety of humankind's knowledge (and dirty secrets) is at your fingertips
I lived my entire life this way. I pirate everything and spend my saved up money on things that can't be pirated like consoles/handhelds and multiplayer PC games. Buy games on Steam sale and humble bundles. Pirate all movies, music, and adobe software to get me through school. Not entirely unrelated, but my mantra is to let people beta test things in life so that you can safely navigate around it. Basically I wait for people to subsidize for my personal gains. I moved out of my parent's house fairly late and thereafter my rent is hilariously low and secure. The only major mistake that I regret, other than the fact I wasted my earlier years in my parent's house, is that I hadn't learned about wealth sooner. Turns out your salary and your checking account does not equal to wealth. It's merely resources to help you build wealth and kick off the snowball effect. I should have looked into modern investing from the phone about 10 years ago, and then today I would be seeing actual life changing wealth. Speaking of which, there's this concept that every now and then there are these rare opportunities of exchange of wealth, such as stock market crashes, retarded presidencies, or housing market crashes, but it's not something that I particularly have a lot to speak about.

Emergency comms frequencies on aircraft are 243MHz for UHF, 121.5MHz for VHF, and 40.5MHz for HF. You only really need to memorize 40.5 because the other 2 are multiples of it so you can just remember to multiply by 3 for VHF and multiply by 6 for UHF.

You can get rid of any fear and phobia through cognitive behavioural therapy. You can recover from OCD with it too.
It requires a proper understanding of the mechanisms of fear and clear guidelines on how to do exposure sessions. You can get that from any good CBT book. Use a LLM to pick up one tailored to the fears you wish to work on.
The hard part is doing the exposure sessions, but they genuinely work in reducing your fear long term.

>How do you gauge the amount of work to put in?
You can gauge the time it takes you to write an automation script and run it X times vs the time it would take to do it manually for the next 1-2 years. But I have been using some scripts for about 4 years untouched.

Eventually though, you end up with a library of functions and code scaffolding that make writing new automations much faster.

>Wouldn't it be very easy to expose yourself by being too productive?
Normally, people don't know you're scripting things unless you tell them. They just assume you worked on it and turned it in. So you do need to resist humble bragging. My last job was to make daily reports for upper management (the dude that trained me spent hours each day making reports). But as long as the reports were delivered and looked nice, they didn't ask any questions. Just asked for occasional tweaks or added fields.

The stock market will always move up and to the right over the long run because it has three sources of returns:
- dividend yield, which is always positive
- earnings growth (per share), which is always positive in the long run
- speculative return, which fluctuates up and down and is irrelevant in the long run

By spending a part of your income to buy a low cost index fund, you are guaranteed positive real returns in the long run. By buying in regular intervals you will get the average regardless of speculative fluctuations in the long run.
It is a matter of discipline not knowledge or skill or luck.
>>
>>106617191
Define "long run"
>>
>>106617191
This only works for the whole (or the vast majority of the stocks). Also one thing you need to consider is that when a crash is impending if you're close to pulling out your money.
>>
>>106617221
There have been occasional "lost decades" but it has always been positive over 20 years or more and the historical average returns are around 10% per year.
In the last 15 years the returns have been much higher than that due to very high speculative returns (increase in the P/E ratio). Eventually it will inevitably revert back to the mean which tends to happen in a crash that undershoots historical averages, rather than a slow decline. There's no reason to try to time it and no way to predict when that may happen. A crash would be good to people still earning and saving as it lets them buy cheaper.

Any number whose digits when summed are divisible 3, is also divisible by 3. For example, 24 is divisible by 3 because 2+4 = 6, and 6 is also divisible by three. 11 is not divisble by 3 because 1+1 = 2, and that's not divisible by 3. But 123 is divisible by 3 because 1+2+3 = 6. Similarly, 423 is divisible because 4+2+3 is 9. And 9/3=3. 2025 is divisible by 3 because 2+2 = 4, 4+5 = 9, and 9+0 = 9.

Just go for the thing you want directly.

People nowadays have made up a mythology that to achieve X you first need to do y, z, a, b, c. In reality it's almost always possible to achieve X directly.

A good example from this very thread is the person asking for mathematics resources. I'm guessing this person isn't actually interested in math in and of itself but rather wants to achieve something and convinced himself he NEEDS math to do so.

I think the reason I personally am more successful than my peers is that I look clearly at what I want and directly go for it.

I got a hot wife by directly going for it. I didn't do intermediary steps people convince themselves of like going to the gym, reading dating tips, first having a good job etc.

Same with employment. I got a high paying career by directly applying and mostly learning on the job instead of getting a degree and years of networking, my colleagues are all master degree holders or even post-docs but it really doesn't matter.

Whats funny is that most business owners and leaders have this exact mindset and they recognize it in others which is what got me hired most of the time. Having the balls to apply without credentials usually got me invited to the interview in and of itself because it ironically stands out, especially if your cover letter isn't retarded and you show you can think and have potential.

I apply this to everything in life by the way. Even intangible concepts like "happiness". Don't do things that you think are intermediates to happiness just go directly to actual happiness, deep inside you know what would make you happy so just do that instead.

Food and nutrients are actually very easy

Milk and potatoes contain all nutrients (micro, macro vitamins, viber) a person needs.

Another nutrient complete (vegan) combo is rice and lentils. So if you're one of those guys buying multivitamins or not cooking, stop and just get one of these combos, measure out calories and you're set. All the other shit you read online is marketing. Remember the entire food industry would collapse if people found out how easy and cheap it was to have perfect nutritious meals. You can Google this independently or ask AI (if they won't bullshit you because of retarded training data from pseuds)

In essence, that's one of the things these productivity guys are always going on about: just do it. Forget motivation to achieve discipline, it's the other way around: with discipline, comes motivation. So what you have to do is to start immediately and leave the rest to momentum. Of course, there's an entire ocean filled to the brim with sharks and a gigantic wall for some people, but that's another story. I'm particularly fond of the following: set 5 minutes and start doing it. When you complete it, set 10 minutes. For me, it doesn't take more than two or three timers to get engaged with the task.
