I have a Chinese clone of a Raidfire Spear that I use exclusively for finding my dog in the yard at night. Also 14 year old zebralight that's nearly impossible to use because the clicky switch is so worn out and has had virtually no use case anyway since I got a smartphone

Oh boy I've gone deep down this autism rabbit hole in the last 2 years.These things are like Pokemon cards when you get to buying them. I have gone through few and these are the ones I like the most.It'll be mostly Sofirn for me as their price and quality is on point, same goes for Convoy and Wurkkos.Sofirn HS21 is easily one of the best if not the best price performance headlamps out there. Everyone should have one of these.Sofirn SK40 and SK30 are wonderful, some of the best flashlights you could buy for the money. Plenty of throw but still enough usable spill for all kinds of use.Best light you can buy for general purpose is Convoy M21H with XHP70.3 R70, it's so versatile. I have a 8 degree TIR which gives it a bit more throw over the default 12 degrees, and this makes it the king of general purpose lights for close and mid range.Honorable mention Wurkkos TS22 for a total flooder, great indoors general purpose one, but it's definitely limited in range. You can achieve the exact same thing with a wider spill TIR for the M21H though.Best part is that all of those lights have a USB-C charging port, so you don't need to fuck with chargers and they all have very good sustains for their size.Screw any water ingress memes about the USB ports, non issue.Bonus round for a lumen cannon option, Convoy M21B with LHP73B, this thing is just silly levels of power in that small package.Nice to have mini light is Wurkkos HD03, cheap and powerful enough.Keychain light for me is the Nitecore Tini2.I might be a bit of a contrarian, but Anduril is something that basically makes a light non buy for me, because it's just way too much of a gimmick.I have one Hanklight and it's nice and pretty, but have managed to get the light stuck on some weird ass setting couple of times and then I had to google how to unfuck it.You really shouldn't need a flowchart from google to operate a one button flashlight.

>>106647623The problem is that it's way too easy to get the anduril light messed up in some way, as basically every set of clicks from 1 to 10 has some kind of an effect.I couldn't even imagine letting someone borrow it, as they'd have it stuck in momentary or locked mode in no time with no idea what the hell happened.I do agree that every light should have a ramping setting, as sometimes the gaps between low,mid and high are way too big. Easily the best example being Acebeam Pokelit, which goes from low 5 lumen to mid 200 and will instantly eye rape you in the dark.I think the great ramping is the main reason most people like anduril to begin with, instead of all of the other bells and whistles it has.
