Brehs I did it, I joined the chad VA mini led gang and boughted AOC Q27G3XMN/BK. Issue is Im months away from building the rest of the computer and Im currently rocking 1050ti powerhouse. Should I use the new display at 1440p while browsing and some crippled 1080p cropped mode when gaming? Or just use 1080p for everything and deal with blurry image?
>>106644080Why is this even a question? Desktop at 1440p for multimedia and browsing, and then game at whatever the fuck you want, including 1080p.

>>106644080Looks like a standard LED ("W-LED", white LED) to me. Not Mini-LED...
Just realized I put my cooler the wrong way and had to take it off for a few minutes, do I gotta apply thermal paste on the cpu again?
>>106644080Please tell me your gaming experience with it. I’m still torn between miniLED VA and IPS and not sure if the black smearing on VA is still super bad nowadays. Been using IPS for years now so I’m used to its drawbacks.
r8/h8 please. first build in a long time (currently on a gtx1080/xeon). not on the list is the monitor i'm planning to buy which would be the lg ultragear 27GR83Q. also just upgraded my speakers from a 20 year old logitech 2.1 system to the kali lp-unf and I'm liking them so far (tested the nubert nuboxx, kanto ora, argon audio studie3)
>>106644080>AOC Q27G3XMN/BK.How much did you pay for it Anon?If you are still in the window to cancel the order or return it I'd strongly suggest doing so and getting the successor model, the AOC Q27G40XMN instead ($270):https://www.bestbuy.com/product/aoc-27-q27g40xmn-mini-led-qhd-180hz-gaming-monitor-black/JX9GSKPL9Yhttps://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/aoc-q27g40xmn-vs-aoc-q27g3xmn/97969/41611https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDOybDnJ9cMStill MiniLED-VA but with better colors and 3x the Zone Count for better effective contrast and less blooming.
>>106644209Just gather all the paste in the centre before installing the cooler. Paste doesn't age super quickly and can be reused this way

Should you set your AIO pump to a constant 100% or have a curve like with radiator and case fans? I've tried googling this but lots of conflicting information. P.s. the frozen edge is really nice, mounting it was a pain though, can't imagine the freezer 3 if it's specifically mentioned as having a finicky mounting solution.

I can literally see my arms waving back at memy monitor is a G27Q IPS from Gigabyteis IPS really that reflective? would an OLED also reflect stuff this badly?
>>106644393Alright. Here's my suggestions: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/wyPth7The 9800X3D is just not worth what AMD is charging for it over a tray 7800X3D IMO (only 3% uplift @ 1440p for over an extra 100€), see here:https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/27.htmlI'd save your money with the "last gen" X3D chip right now and upgrade to an end-game 11800X3D later on when AMD ups the core count and gives an IPC gain worth your time/money. To put it another way you haven't maxxed out your GPU yet so there's little point in maxxing out your CPU.Saved you a bit of money on the RAM/Mobo (there's little difference between the B650 & B750 chipsets, but check it's feature set to confirm it has everythign you want).4TB NVMEs carry a premium while 2TB models have the best €/TB value at the moment (remember your board has 3x slots if you need more space later). But if you have a larger boot drive the UD90 would still save you a chunk of money:https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/2BvD4D/silicon-power-ud90-4-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-sp04kgbp44ud9005Likewise the Toshiba 18TB is a poor €/TB value when for 15€ more you can get an extra 6TB.Cases are subjective, but it's a fine selection.Saved you a bit on the PSU with a quality unit from MSI that has a 10-Year warranty.>I have too much static content going on and i hate the idea of buying something of which i know that it will degrade and is shit for text/excel stuff or i would go with an oled. I'd prefer the PG27AQN but I can't justify the price as it's still around 800 in the EU.For less than the price of the 27GR83 you might also consider the MSI MAG 274UPF E2 (4K@160Hz IPS):https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/q9fxFT/msi-mag-274upf-e2-270-3840-x-2160-160-hz-monitor-mag-274upf-e2https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/msi/mag-274upfYour GPU could handle it and you might appreciate the PPI/sharpness more than the refresh rate.

>>106644525>my monitor is a G27Q IPS from Gigabyte>is IPS really that reflective? It's not especially known for it but you are probably sensitive to it. I'd move something large between the sunlight rays being cast from the window and your PC (or add windwo shades/curtains).>would an OLED also reflect stuff this badly? It would actually be worse in this scenario (but better if you could control your lighting more and at night).

>>106644576thanks for your input, I really appreciate it! the monitor is already a compromise as I mainly play cs2, otherwise I would have chosen a 4k and/or an oled. I looked at some 4k models that can do 1080p at a higher refresh as well but they all had somewhat mixed reviews.I created the build list (minus the gpu) some time ago and remember that it took me quite a while to decide between the 7800x3d and 9800x3d and think in the end the 9800 maybe being a bit more future proof swayed me but I think the 7800x3d would probably work just fine in my usecase (mainly gaming, some light cad/sketchup, excel, video editing work). the toshiba and super flower choices were down to good reviews in the super flower case and me thinking the toshiba enterprise stuff will longer, but your choices make up for some good saving if I'm being rational.
>>106644460nah. some 'tuber tested it recently at increments of 10% on an arctic aio and higher isn't always better. like on his particular unit, 80% cooled nearly as well as 100% while being quieter and 90% worsened temps over 80%whatever % you choose, setting it at a constant speed wouldn't hurt

Can someone help me fathom the bugbear I was dealing with yesterday? So I have had a Ryzen 7000 system for awhile now and I finally solved this issue I have been having. Basically I kept my PC on for 98 days which ended yesterday because a strange issue I can't explain that prevents me from booting back into windows. Yesterday I was forced to restart and of course I couldn't get back into windows. So I basically narrowed it down to U.2 to M2 adapter. When that wasn't plugged in I could boot to windows. But with it plugged in even if I did make it to windows I had strange crashing, randomly losing ethernet stack, ACPI error bluescreen and the drives in the question were unaccessible. Interestingly enough I have my os installed on a optane drive which is connected via the U.2 to M.2 in the second M.2 slot and it still worked without issue. I finally managed to get everything to work by using every other M.2 slot and skipping a slot. It seems if a device is plugged into the problematic slots it will make my system unstable and unbootable, even if it is a normal M.2 drive. I have RMA'd the board before and they said it "passed tests" is there anyone else who had this happen before?
>>106644613>Fair, you Euros get boned on monitors.Speaking of which, has anyone tried buying monitors from aliexpress before? They apparently opened some warehouses here this year so they deliver shit within 2 days or so with free returns. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005009897708581.html
>>106644793>the toshiba and super flower choices were down to good reviews in the super flower case and me thinking the toshiba enterprise stuff will longer, but your choices make up for some good saving if I'm being rational. You really can't count on Enterprise HDDs to last any longer than the drives that are sold to consumers (no disk maker is spending money running multiple separate production lines with special hardware under the hood for better longevity to only certain buyers). The differentiation is mainly firmware for RAID arrays/warranty/post-sales service to large data center buyers who buy enterprise drives by the pallet.Always have an extra disk you are periodically making backups with. For the PSU, yes Superflower is one of good OEMs. That MSI unit is made by CWT on their GPX ATX 3.0 LLC/DC-DC typology platform (as good as it gets design wise) and passed Cybernetics testing so it should be fine:https://www.cybenetics.com/evaluations/psus/2336/https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/edit?gid=1973454078#gid=1973454078>thanks for your input, I really appreciate it! the monitor is already a compromise as I mainly play cs2, otherwise I would have chosen a 4k and/or an oled. >>106647171>>106646942Thing is I already RMA'd the CPU once. This was before I was messing with the U.2 to M.2 drives. Don't know what happened, didn't even have PBO or anything and it just died one day. Still using the same RAM and mobo that I had with the dead 7950x3d. In my diagram you can see how I have things. HOWEVER it should be noted that the ACPI error and unbootable to windows is not EXCLUSIVE to when I use the U.2 to M.2 drive. Even if I put a spare M.2 drive in the slot labeled "SKIP" it results in the same issues. I also found an interesting tidbit from the MB manual itself "* The PCIEX2 slot shares bandwidth with the SATA3 4/5 connectors. The SATA3 4/5connectors will become unavailable when a device is installed in the PCIEX2 slot." however the most I have ever occupied would be 3 of the SATA slots for 3 HDDs which is below the amount indicated in the manual. The behavior persisted regardless of how many drives I had connected. Last night I had only 1 HDD connected, the SN850X and the Optane boot drive and it still resulted in issues. Today after moving the drives around I have no issues and can restart fine. I even reconnected my other two HDDS. It really is strange behavior that is hard to simply blame on a connector. It seems the slot itself is bad. I tried messing with bifurcation to 4x4x4x4 (which shouldn't change anything) and manually setting all the PCIE slots to 3x and it still resulted in the issues if any drive was plugged into a slot labeled skip. All is working today, but it really confuses me.

>>106644319If that is the only thing you'll be doing, there a few things you should consider.First, it's possible your touer has a USB port on it that allows you to plug in an external hard drive. Plug it in and enable to FTP, SMB, whatever your router uses, and you're done. After that, how much stuff are you storing? The answer changes whether you can look at boards that just fit an SSD or whether you need SATA ports, or even PCIe ports for expansion. On CPU you can get by with the weakest of the weak if it really is just for serving files. An Intel N100 is a popular choice because of the incredibly low wattage and so low power bill from having an always on device.Just be aware these things often spread out into more than file servers.

Man buying GPUs still sucks huh? I thought I'd look into upgrading into a 4090 from my 3080 since the 5k series released earlier this year and figured it'd drop prices enough. Have they said anything about the 6k series yet? Maybe that will help deflate prices.I miss when you could get a top range GPU for like $700.
>>106647676Looks like broken slot/some issues with chipsetHave you checked your chipset temps with hwinfo?x870e Aorus Xtreme has issues with some boards having very high temps due to improperly placed thermal paste, maybe the x670e had similar issues?
Reddit loves to recommend power cycle on any PC problem. Did it ever solve any of your problems?
I'm trying to put the BIOS update on my pc (newly built), but when I put it as in MSI.ROM file, it quickly shuts down. I already have all components inside; should I remove them and do it with just the two power cables? MoBo is MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS and CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (I have the GPU installed).
what are the average temps for a 9800X3D? im not using paste but the sheet from thermal grizzly and I was at 45-50C but right now im at 55C. curious if its worth it to de-lid and or do some other method to lower temps. unless what im getting right now is normal
